But...what merits does it have? It's just another generic moeblob show.

Apart from the music aspect of it, yeah it is just another slice of life show. You act like it's the only genre that suffers from genericness though, at least that's the vibe I'm getting from you.

You think it's a waste, I don't. We all like different things I suppose.

its a waste because slice of life has nothing that requires a large animation budget

Getfansub has direct links for the whole series, I think... you could probably find them with megadownload, since they're all rapidshare or whatever links anyway.

Actually, yeah, T just hit the nail on the head. I have no problem with slice of life (I don't watch many of them though) but they really don't need huge budgets that would be better put to use making an action oriented show...actiony.

I don't see how a budget is wasted with anything that uses the whole budget.

Saying only action-based animes deserve high budgets because they want to make action scenes look cool is like saying only action movies deserve high budgets because they want to make action scenes cool.

Where would we be if Pan's Labyrinth had a small budget?

Watched Haruhi. And actually like it for a bit. Watched it again. Now hate it.

Same goes for Lucky Star, except I watched only 8 episodes.

I just used action oriented stuff as an example. I'm just saying, slice of life can get away with smaller budgets because they have less elaborate things to animate, yet action oriented or other types of anime tend to need to have good action sequences to be...y'know, action packed.

I could directly quote the entire post of mine that you responded to and it would still work here.
