| Waiting for my boyfriend to visit again next week. ;; Long-distance is hard, but we're talking about moving in together next year. I gave in, so I'll be moving to California than staying in Canada, lol.
Trying to decide if I should get him Dragon Quest IV (sp?) or Chrono Trigger on the DS. He already played CT and loved it, however I lent him DQVIII and he wasted 100 hours in it before beating it and loved the old-school battle system and level grinding... and hasn't tried any other DQ games....
Hmmmmm. >_> |

| Same as always, likely to remain that way unless a miracle comes my way. Not too sure if I'm content with it... |

So are you 2 going to get married? That would make the immigration process simpler (tough still complicated, as Aelph could testify) |

I don't know. >.> We never talk about it, and he's never brought it up. I haven't brought it up either since I don't want to feel I'm pressuring him. ._. And he doesn't look like he's even close to being ready to settle down, lol.
We'll start talking about living together, etc, soon when he comes up (it's just easier to talk in person) and see if we can work something out, along with the whole immigration process.

| Just moving to the US, sadly, can take up to five years even to get approval (a green card). You'll want to either have a job/school lined up or be planning to get married before you even apply -- trust me. It's absolute hell just to apply without any "reason" to go there at this point, because they're so damn paranoid. As for my love life... I'm just glad to have a sex life again, really. _________________ [by Atlas] |

I think I'm gonna be a swinger for the rest of my life at this rate. |
wow. That's kinda unexpected, imo. |
Well, I don't really flaunt it... <_<
I will NEVER have sex though unless I actually felt something for the person. One of my best friends doesn't seem to understand that however, and she's always trying to save me, even though I can say (and have said) no. That's why all of the guys now call her "cock blocker Cottle." |

I would qualify living together as settling down, TBH. But you're right, having these kind of convos is a lot easier face to face.
And as canadian city goes, Vancouver is pretty big. Asides from the weather I dont think living they're would be much different than LA. |

File immigration papers immediately. Getting a passport and a visa took me quite some time, so I can't imagine getting immigration work done would be any faster. |
No, don't do that -- you have to have a reason to want to come in, and in the case of many visas, proof of that reason (whether it be a letter of acceptance from a university, an offer of employment, or whatever). And that's part of the paperwork. The particular paperwork you file is based on your reason for coming in. I-130, for instance, is what we've filed; that's "Petition for Alien Relative." If you don't yet know under what circumstances you're coming in, I wouldn't recommend filing yet, because they don't take kindly to trying to change things in the middle of the process. (As we found out when we were trying to figure out if we could go over to applying for a visitor visa, which would have allowed my husband in while the I-130 was being processed. You're very unlikely to be approved for a change, and it could hurt your initial application. Or that's what our immigration lawyer said; we didn't try it for that very reason.)
It is, sadly, often a very long process to get visas for the US._________________ [by Atlas] |

I never really thought about the differences between living together, settling down together, and getting married. >.> I did a quick google search and a lot of couple stuff is debating whether you should live together first before marrying or only live together AFTER you get married, etc.
That's actually a pretty interesting question in general. Wonder what other people think? ^^;
And is it easier if my boyfriend moved to Canada instead? I'll probably get around to the research once I'm done my exams (along with looking at US colleges in case I do want to continue my education down there... yay procrastination. >_>;;; )
