If Namco made an M-Rated Tales game that heavily undertook the aspects of depression, lust, mass rape and genocide, and featured most--if not all--of the party characters dying in violent and painful ways for their righteous cause over the course of the game and staying dead, would you play it?

Most Likely.

Definitely, if your actions/decisions are what determines who dies, and who lives.

Too much of an asspull. Having inevitable scripted deaths makes everything seem more hopeless and grimdark.

Swordsman: Turned into a human pincushion.
Healer: Overuses her powers trying to save her helpless comrades, causing her heart to explode.
Nuker / Summoner: Reduced to a smoldering corpse (alternatively: human popsicle) by a better enemy nuker / summoner, or picked off by an enemy archer.
Archer: Picked off by an Australian.

So it'd be an M-rated Tales Of The Abyss?

this would instantly be the best tales game, provided the violence reaches mortal-kombat levels of silliness. fatalities are a must.
