{ ťħę MĄĞĮĊ }There are two schools of magic in this universe. One is available to the twins, and the other to the lonely. It is impossible for one of the lonely to learn “twin magic,” and vice versa. There is a magic academy that is responsible for restraining powerful magic, instituting magic laws and giving names to the primordial powers the twins and lonely make use of. The schools are as follows:
Elemental School – This school is self-explanatory. It belongs to the twins. The names for the elemental magicks given by the magic academy are
Choleric (Fire), Diluvial (Water), Terrestrial (Earth), and
Zephyrean (Air). The twins are known for using scrolls and tomes to master their magic. They find this more elegant, and controlled. Twins as a set usually only master one element, though it is possible for each twin to semi-master a different element. This is quite difficult, as it throws the twin’s elemental synchronization off.
Astral School – This school belongs to the lonely, and is considered heathen magic by the twins. The elements are Lambent (Light), and Aphotic (Dark). This school’s magic is much more powerful than the elemental school, but also, much more difficult to master. It takes a true adept to use this magic. The lonely don’t use scrolls or books, as there are none. They use a primitive “bending” of the elements. A lonely one can learn both lambent and aphotic magic simultaneously, but one is always significantly stronger than the other. Keep this in mind.
The main thing about dark magic is that it can then be "bent" (Avatar: the Last Airbender style). Aphotic lore can also manifest darkness into a physical force. There are curses and such available and also offensive spells.
Lambent (light) magic's main point is that it can also be turned into a physical form. Think like a light whip, or sword. It can be bent as such, much like dark magic. Light magic can also be defensive and quite useful as it can create barriers and reverse curses.
{ ťħę ŴÖŖĽĐ }In this universe, there are two locations that make up “the world.”
☆Yasil [ya-shEEl] is the name of the planet the original humans came to. It was destroyed in the great magic war resulting in its transformation into an arid desert planet. Technology here is in limited supply as most of it was taken to create the Cradle. There are however remnants of the great technology still in use. There are life sustaining water generators on the planet. They make it possible to live in the desert conditions. There is also an ancient device that can give the realistic illusion of night and day, but this system is malfunctioning. It could be day one moment, and in the next, it could be night. This powerful machine’s location is unknown and can cause problems for the sparse inhabitants of Yasil. In order to travel the oceans of sand, old machinery has been salvaged and repurposed as means of transportation.
Yasil is a world of sand. It is a mostly barren wasteland, though there are scattered oases. It is mountainous in the northern regions. One thriving jungle can be found within a valley of a mountainous area. There are vast dried up ocean beds that stretch thousands of miles. These areas are virtually impossible to traverse. Simple stone buildings built around oases make up the few villages and colonies here. There are ancient ruins of cities, and temples to the gods. These have all beautifully decayed. The harsh desert climate is demanding for those strong enough to live here. The typical temperature during the day can be deadly, but just as much at night
There are four cities of interest on Yasil:
Elveda - This was the once great utopia. It is located in the central desert. Now in ruins, most who still remain here live in simple adobe homes on the outskirts. Some however do inhabit the ruins of the city. This place is considered a sacred city. It is also an oasis. Do to the massive water generator beneath the city, there is sparse overgrown vegetation that have taken over the sky line.
Baris - Baris was once a great fortress built high in the mountains. Due to the high elevation, it can get quite cold. Snow is not infrequent here. The lonely ones have found this place to be their sanctuary, and the highest concentration of them can be found here. It is remarkably intact, relatively untouched by the ravages of war and nature.
Su Seheri - This was once the most beautiful place in the world. The buildings here were curvilinear in nature and many of them were made of crystal, now looted and gone. It is located on a precarious complex of cliffs that once overlooked the ocean. It was destroyed ages ago in the great war, though few still live here in the magnificent ruins as a means of refuge. The cliffs the city sits upon are known as “the edge of the world.”
Gozellika - A colossal megalithic temple complex ruin hidden in the last remaining forested area. It is kept secret deep within the last remaining jungle. It is almost impossible to find. It was once a city of worship. Now it is overgrown by the jungle vegetation. The reason for the jungle being so lush and alive is the powerful magical energies that concentrate here. These foreboding energies keep humans far away. Consider this place dangerous.
Government here could be called a mixture of a republic and chiefdom. There are various “tribes” that inhabit Yasil. Each of these tribes has their own set of laws. The Chief, or leader of these tribes takes the input from their people, and they in turn meet with the other leaders at a summit and as a group, try to best institute the wishes of their respective tribes into a working widespread order. This “government” isn’t very stable, but it has proved to be effective.
☆The Cradle
The technology here is more advanced than that of Yasil. When the Cradle was built, the twins took most of Yasil’s technology with them. There are multiple water generators as well as a weather control device to keep the Cradle livable as it orbits in Yasil’s gravitational field. There are gravity control devices; a necessity of course living in space. There are also teleportational devices to get to Yasil, though these have either been shut down, or are broken for the most part. The Cradle does not like to communicate with Yasil unless necessary, but once every two years, one of the last working teleportation mechanisms are reactivated and for a hefty fee, people are able to travel between Yasil and The Cradle. The oxygen rich atmosphere of the Cradle is due to the oxygen emitting machines that can be found here. There are various other mechanical devices used here, though most of it is old repurposed technology.

A ‘triumvirate’ dominates politics and Government on the Cradle, or rather, three sets of twins. One male identical set, one female identical set, and one male/female fraternal set. Though seemingly well working, it is a farce. The three sets vie for power, and are in fact quite drunk with their influence. It used to be that three new sets were elected every eight years, but the current triumvirate abolished this to further their influence. They openly disparage the lonely, and oft speak ill words of them. The people of the Cradle nonetheless have great faith in the triumvirate, and are mostly blind to their corruption. The triumvirate, while not entirely against those on Yasil, still harbor negative feelings and tendencies to their neighbors.
The Cradle is quite beautiful in a sense. There are many buildings and structures created with a mix of stone and metal, all stained, rusted and weathered from time. The city is literary almost covered in overgrown vegetation and vines. (Think…kudzu?) There are many sunken paths throughout the cradle like waterways that allow water to flow throughout the cradle. This all creates for a beautiful picture. There is also a large population of butterflies here, though not natural, as they are concentrated magic.
{ ťħę ŖĒĿĬĠĮÖŊ }There are two main religions that are followed in this universe.
Tanriism (Tanri) - Ancient religion. Still worships the ancient gods. The people who call this religion their own are mostly twins. They are referred to as Tanri(s). They believe that since the gods no longer respond to them as they did to their ancestors, that they are being tested. People of this religion are usually quite devout. Tanriism is the main religion found on the Cradle, though it is found on Yasil as well. The people believe that magic comes from the gods of each respective element.
Onsani (Sani) - This religion is younger than its predecessor. The lonely ones that actually believe in the gods usually opt for Onsani. Though usually associated with the lonely, some twins follow this religion as well. This is a more liberal religion, and isn't pushed as much or as nearly conservative as Tanriism. They believe in the same gods, but have reordered the pantheon according to their beliefs of importance. They prize abstract elements associated with the gods rather than the physical elements. This religion is observed almost exclusively on Yasil.
The Pantheon
The gods were once all worshipped equally. This was at the dawn of mankind. Over the course of time, different gods have fallen in and out of the minds and hearts of humans. The humans decided which gods were to grateful of and which gods to fear.
You’ll notice a slash in each of the god’s descriptions. The information on the left side is what element the Tanri worship them for. The information on the right is what ideal the Sani worship them for. It’s not vitally important, as the god is ruler over both sides anyway. Er, I guess I didn’t need to explain that then. Ha ha.

Benovseyi - (Goddess of Light/Life) One of two creator gods. She has pale glowing skin and silver eyes, traits that both the twins and the lonely share, respectively. She and Mor created the humans in their own images. Usually seen as the “great-mother” and bringer of peace and harmony.
Mor – (God of Shadow/Death) One of two creator gods. He has red eyes and dark horns, traits both the twins and the lonely share, respectively. He and Benovseyi created the humans in their own images. Though by many to have created the lonely, though this is not the case. Usually seen as the bringer of chaos.
Zeytun - God of Earth/Patience
Sari - God of Lightning/Independence
Narinci - God of Wind/Freedom
Mavi - Goddess of Water/Wisdom
Bardovu - God of Ice/Justice
Qara - Goddess of Nature/Love
Turuncu - God of Metal/Perseverance
Qırmızı - God of Fire/Strength

In this universe, there is a new and old tongue. The old tongue, called Seir, is archaic and almost completely lost. It is usually only used in formal situations and by some nomadic peoples living on Yasil who are still in touch with the old ways. Here are some basic phrases you can pepper on your conversations! This also lets you know what some words mean, and how I’m using them in case you have been wondering.

**IF you wish to play as a twin, I’m going to have to ask something special of you. I want you and another person to go in together and create a history. You’ll be one twin, and they’ll be the other. You’ll be playing as twins, so you’ll need to know each other anyway. I really think this will urge character development.
