All I know of is star ocean, and I own all of them along with every tales game >_>
anything else similar?

Final Fantasy, being both RPG series

Star Ocean is the closest one to a Tales-esque battle system you can get.

I was referring to gameplay ;c
yeah I figured. thats so strange.
you would think another company would have done something by now (Then again, they probably have a lot of that stuff copyrighted)

Only titles that come to mind are Mimana Iyar Chronicle (which I've heard isn't good) and the Keroro Gunsou DS games (the latter obviously never came here.)
The Swordcraft Story games are pretty good, though I remember the sequel becoming tedious, having to rely on summon spirits way too much. I think there are no party members either.

Star Ocean is probably the closest one since it's technically the only series produced by the original Phantasia SNES team.
