In other news, Haganai is still excellent. I keep getting caught off guard by the fact that this show was made in in the last 2-3 years, so there's a lotta uncensored titties. Edit: Finished the first season, gotta nab the second. Gotta say, was kinda disappointed with the first half of episode 12, there wasn't much payoff for such a big buildup, they really nailed it at the end of episode 11 though. I also am not a big fan of how much the show threw the word "rape" around in the OVA, I dunno if that's FUNimation punching up the dialogue or not. | |

| Yeah fanservice is typically a disservice, considering that I'd actually like to be able to recommend anime to some people. Haganai is a fantastic show, amazing dub, but there is frequent full-on nudity and only about a quarter of the time is it used for the sake of comedy. | |

Their target demographic isn't us but japanese and fanservice sells like hotcake there so... | |

And I'm well aware that there's worse in terms of sexual content in otherwise "normal" anime series'. | |

| That's not the correlation I was getting at. Anime releases are fucking expensive in Japan, and they contain very little content. The only people who buy them are nerds. So, the people in marketing know that they should do things that won't bother nerds, and could possibly tempt nerds. Cue fanservice.
I don't think any of us care about adult content in our anime, because we know there are good things lurking beneath the titty sea, and it's apparent that there are anime fans who ARE in it for the titties.
It makes sense, but it just makes most things very difficult to show to anybody who doesn't "get" anime. Even though Haganai's one of my favourites now, I'd never show it to anybody who isn't an anime fan, and that's a goddamn shame. | |

| Does anyone have a link or something that tells/analysis Kagerou Project chronologically, or is that impossible? Mekakucity Actors is amazingly cryptic. I go into this anime not knowing anything about Kagerou Project, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But sometimes I just need to find that extra detail to complement an episode. I can't go into a dedicated discussion forum because everyone's discussing about the source material that I just can't wrap my head on it. Reading the wikia is also futile because it's even more meta. Tried reading the manga, but it's a different adaptation and confused me even more. So yeah, chronological analysis of Kagerou Project/Mekakucity Actors please? This is what I understand/not understand so far, please correct me. - Spoiler:
To get the 'red eyes' ability, someone need to be in near death experience. Not only that, there must be someone close to them when it happens. (e.g.; Momo with her father drowning, father missing; Kido with her sister in fire, sister missing; that teacher/Kenjirou? with her wife in landslide, wife missing).
Then what about Ene and Haruka? From the manga, it seems that the (alter ego)teacher somehow transferred her consciousness into data and upon being erased, she met the snake and gets her red eyes power. But there's no one else around her at the time.
I'm guessing Hibiya got his red eyes because he's in an accident with Hiyori, and Hiyori went missing. Then why did Konoha disappears?
And Hibiya and Hiyori's story on episode 4. I'm guessing that this happens after Hibiya/Hiyori/Konoha get swallowed by the snake phantom thing; is the repeating dreams actually the alternate world (Heat Haze Daze?) that determines who's going to return from death?
Marry as Medusa made me go ooohh. Makes sense since her eye power paralyzes people and the ending of previous episode. But other than that, it sorta came out abruptly.
And damn, if they don't show more Shintaro's badassery, I'm gonna cry. Also meek Mamoru Miyano.  | |
