PNF seems to be locked

Figured I'd post this here rather than create a new Positives, negatives, and everything in between fickracken because I'd rather have the existing thread unlocked again instead.

It looks like PNF was locked in an attempt to merge it with an older version of the thread, and then accidentally left locked when it didn't work. But I'm pretty sure it automatically split off for a reason - I looked into it with Google and apparently when threads on Forumotion reach a certain capacity they get split and the older portion gets locked.

Well, they can't be merged again it seems, so you're probably right.

Sixty-seven pages is a weird number of pages to set as an end though (as opposed to 99 or 999), so it is probably based on either posts or lines, characters or something similar.

I'll unlock the smaller one just in case.

I think what I was reading said 990 posts or some such before it splits.

I looked on the French help forum and it says:

"Si un sujet dépasse 1100 messages, une fonction non paramétrable divisera automatiquement le sujet : il sera séparé en un sujet de 990 messages, (qui sera verrouillé) et un sujet de 110 messages portant le même titre."

If a topic exceeds 1100 posts, an unsettable function will automatically divide the topic: it will be divided in a 990 posts topic, (which will be locked) and a 110 posts topic with the same title.

You could add the link to the old topic in the first post of the new one and add a number in the title of the new topic like I've seen people do on the old forum. You can also create a read-only archive thingy where old topics can be either manually moved or automatically moved after a set amount of time without answers, it was named the "Corbeille" (trash bin) when I used to admin a not very active Forumactif/motion.
