| I want to go, since my sister lives close enough to the Irving area, but I have to convince my wife. Luckily she is also a Tales fan, so I might have a chance. | |

Were you able to convince her? Guests have been announced for Aselia Con 3! Copied and pasted from their website: Protos Heis: Protos Heis melts your face with hard rock guitar driven instrumental arrangements of music from the Tales of video game franchise. Live performances are on the bill for Saturday and Sunday with Q&A following. Plans are in the works to record a CD to be available in Artist Alley. Come celebrate the Music of Tales with us! Joan: Joan lives in DFW with her husband, Carl and their three (adorable) miniature dachshunds. She has only been cosplaying since 2012 but has admired the art for many years. Joan is an avid gamer and comic book fan; she’s not claiming to be Wonder Woman, but it should be noted that nobody has ever seen Joan and Wonder Woman in the same room. Her first cosplay was Lulu from Final Fantasy X and her first convention was AnimeFEST 2012. She loves creating new costumes and working with various mediums; her favorite medium for constructing armor is worbla. Her work has been featured on Worbla.com and she was a talk show guest on Laura Klekar’s radio show “You SO Got This” in June of 2014. When Joan is not cosplaying, she fills her days studying for her MBA: Marketing Cognate at Liberty University (Go Flames!) and is an executive assistant at Global Power. They've also decided to do something new for their VIP event (copied and pasted from their website): We’ve had attendees say that they’re unable to go to the VIP after party due to traveling times in the previous years, so we’re doing something new for 2015. The VIP party will be a Late-Night event Saturday of the convention! It will be starting after 10PM Saturday and go several hours into early Sunday morning. There will be a “Pillow Fight Coliseum Tournament” to partake in, as well as several other games and things to participate in. You’re welcome to stay in costume, or change out into your sleepwear or sweats to feel more comfortable! Remember to stay in the dress code though, so no lingerie or going shirtless! And this is copied and pasted from their facebook: In case you didn't know, Aselia Con is currently doing a GoFundMe to help us out with con costs! If you'd like to donate, please click the link below! Tell your friends or anyone else you know who also shares a love for Tales about us and help spread the word of Aselia Con! http://www.gofundme.com/ekztcw

I know how you feel. Aselia Con is on my bucket list, but considering that Texas is quite a ways away I don't see myself making it in the near future. I need to have a good career before I can hope to go. More guests have been announced. Copied from their site: Throughhim413: Throughhim413 is the founder of Tales fan translation group Absolute Zero. Since 2006, Absolute Zero has released complete translation patches for three previously unlocalized Tales games. throughhim413 hopes to continue working to make older, unlocalized Tales games available to English-speaking audiences around the world. When he’s not translating or waxing poetic about localization theory, throughhim413 distracts himself with all varieties of anime, manga, and games. His favorite Tales games are Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny: Director’s Cut, Tales of Vesperia, and Tales of Hearts. Travis Cook: Travis Cook has been playing and experimenting with cooking since an early age. Having had his dad as a mentor and role model, Cook has always tried different combinations of ingredients; such an interest came in handy during his collegiate years and those following. While he has worked as a software developer since graduation, cooking is still a passion he indulges in on a regular basis. In January 2012, Cook started the Tales of Symphonia Cookbook blog; in doing so, he brought together his love of cooking with his love of gaming. The original goal was to take around 80 of Tales of Symphonia’s most unique recipe variations and bring them to life. After more than a year, the blog was renamed as Tales of Cooking, with the addition of recipes from Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Vesperia. Cook continues to run talesofcooking.tumblr.com, with hopes of adding recipes from other Tales games in the future. They've also announced some additional judges for their cosplay contest: Mary: Tonyu has been cosplaying for 7 years and has completed close to 40 costumes. Tales of Symphonia was the first Tales game she played after being drawn in by the pretty artwork on the cover. She cosplays Raine Sage and Alice from Tales of Symphonia. Her favorite part of cosplay is the sewing and crafting process, as well as meeting fellow fans of the series being cosplayed. Tonyu has won three cosplay awards, including one Best in Show at Aselia Con 2013. When she’s not working on cosplay, working, or going to school for communications, she plays video games of all types, watches anime, and fosters elderly shelter cats. Dax: My first game in the series was Tales of Symphonia because it was in the $9.99 bin at gamestop. I was young and could not get past the Efreet Temple at the beginning of the game and exchanged it for Animal Crossing. Years later I meet my girlfriend, Michelle Valenzuela, after learning that we both had played the game and she loaned me her gamecube to finish the game. Since then we have played most of the Tales games together. My favorite part of the games are the wide variety of weapons and interesting pieces in the game which sparked my creative drive to make the weapons and large costume pieces, like Yggrasils wings.

| I don't like double posting but there is more stuff so...copied and pasted as usual:
DID YOU KNOW? Aselia Con 2015 is hosting it's second annual formal cosplay ball~! This year's theme is Aselia High Homecoming and we WILL be having a voting contest for King and Queen.
Shake your groove thang at Aselia Con's cosplay formal and vote for Homecoming King and Queen at a cosplay ball that'll get you moving! For song requests or suggestions, PM an admin on Tales of Outlaw.
Silent Art Auction
We are proud to announce that this year we will be having an attendee-driven Silent Auction! If you missed your chance at an artist alley table, or just have a one of a kind art piece you’d like to enter, for a mere $5 you can have attendees bid on your piece all weekend! All mediums and works are accepted (within the rules!) so don’t be shy!! Get started on creating something wonderful! The full rules are posted below, if you have any questions please email us.
All entries must be your own compositions. Fanart is welcomed as long as it is original. Redrawn/retraced art of official illustrations will not be accepted and will be rejected. All mediums(ie. marker, pencil, prints, oils, paint, watercolor, 3D work such as plush, props, etc.) will be accepted. (No mature work rated 18+ is allowed.)
All artwork must be in good condition and if flat – either matted, backed and/or framed.) The title of the piece and the artists name must be on the back of each entry. All pieces must have a title.
Only one item of each is allowed. (ie. You may enter two paintings, but they cannot be the same painting.)
There is a non-refundable $5.00 cash entry fee per item. No percentage or fee will be taken out of your final sales. This is due at time of submission along with an entry form that is filled out and signed in agreement.
You may decide on whatever price you’d like for your piece. (However keep in mind if it does not sell you will not be refunded the $5.00.)
Once the artwork is entered it may not be withdrawn from the auction. All pieces not sold will be given back to the artist at the end of the show. For pieces sold, payment may be picked up at the end of the auction.
In order to enter pieces into the art action, you must have an Aselia Con badge.
Also, the convention is this month. Who's going? (Sadly not me, as it's too far away.)

Rookies or pros, we're looking for artists of all types to sell their Tales gear at the one and only Tales of convention in the United States~! DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?!?!? There is a new process for participating in Artists Alley. All Artists MUST SUBMIT a registration form PRIOR to purchasing an AA table. Artists may use up to 2 (TWO) AA tables, but in order to keep it fair, that'll be the cap for now. An AA table costs $30 for the entire con weekend. If you're interested in selling at the con, please head over to: http://goo.gl/forms/2QnK0Bwwre for registration. After the form has been submitted, artists will receive an e-mail with approval (or, on the rare chance, denial). If you have any questions, send an e-mail to aseliconaa@gmail.com

| Guest information, copied and pasted as usual: We are happy to announce our first special guest for AseliaCon! Lorien (Jailer Cosplay) is a northern Washington based cosplayer of over eight years! She became interested in cosplay through a group of new friends at her first college, and it led her to finding her dream career in costume design, her field of study. She got into Tales games about four years ago because she wanted to impress her now-fiance, and it’s been a decision that’s rewarded her since day one in many ways! She handcrafts all of her work and loves to help others with less experience. You can learn more about them on their facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jazzyjailer?_rdr=p&hc_location=ufi | |

| Aselia con has another guest announcement (copied and pasted as usual): PanbanRichard is one of the staff members of the Tales fansite, Abyssal Chronicles. Since 2006, he has contributed to several AC features such as news posts, contests, and content. He also held other Tales projects separate from the website such as the Tales of Marathon Stream which ran for two years featuring three games in the series and special guests throughout the community, and the Tales Op Chorus Medley which gave members in the community the opportunity to sing their favorite Tales openings in a medley-like format together. This year, he is going on behalf of AC to hold a panel akin to site contests in the past. Be prepared to bring your Tales trivia & gameplay skills to Abyssal Chronicles’ Tower of Tales at Aselia Con this year! Also, it appears there's now a Tales convention in Canada: http://maplegelcon.squarespace.com/ | |
