So apparently they just announced Million Arthur-chan which I think counts as jumping the shark.

Oh no, not Jumping the Shark.

BTW, 2 things:
1. I'm on the True End route of Re;Birth2 and am trying to get everything at once.
2. Expect an update on the first post since Neptunia U is coming this Tuesday.

So I had a couple questions for Falcom that he didn't answer because he's MIA on Skype, but they can probably be answered here:

Is it worth playing the original Neptunias now, or just the Re;Births? It seems like since the Re;Births have all come out before VII that they are the new canon.

and

Does Producing Perfection reversible cover?

I believe I asked earlier if Re;Birth had a reversible cover and he confirmed no, with a photo of his copy.

Okay, to answer your questions:
1. Sure you can play the originals. There's no reason not to.
2. No.

You clearly don't understand the question. Are the Re;Birth games strictly improvements over the originals? Will the originals be necessary to understand the story? Have the Re;Birth games introduced story elements that will be required for VII that the original games obviously would not cover?

I understand that the games exist and I could theoretically play them. The question is, for what reason would I?

I have ten min. before I take a ride to my therapist appointment so I'll make this quick:

First of all, I updated the first post with Neptunia Action U.
Second, V II is still in Japanese so I won't know for sure until it's Localized.
Third, As for the Re;Birth games being better than the originals, yes and no. While the remake system adds items, weapons, dungeons, etc. you make from plans, trying to get one of each item becomes a hassle. In which you do copious amounts of grinding to get the cash for items. In the originals, you don't do that, with the exception of cash grinding in Victory. I guess you could play the originals for a challenge, see where it all started, get the references, etc. See the original before trying the remake.

You know how long it took me to get all the Trophies for Victory? 1 1/2 years.

Be ready for the grinding, and for Mk2, and Victory, get the worst endings out of the way first and work your way up.

Rebirth 1has a completely revamped story, different from HDN1. It also has the staple battle system of the series as opposed to HDN1's turn based action. It seems Rebirth 2 and 3 are the exact same stories as Mk2 and Victory.

One character in Mk2 (Nisa) is replaced in Rebirth 2. I read its because NISA and IF arent exactly on the most friendliest of terms now.

As for story elements, iirc Mk2(Rebirth 2) and Victory (Rebirth 3) follows the same continuity, while Rebirth 1is standalone. Or in Neptunia's case, Rebirth 1 is in a different dimension/reality as opposed to Rebirth 2's and 3's same dimension.im not sure if Rebirth 2/Mk 2 follows from HDN1/first game.

I would suggest to play Rebirth 2 and 3 instead. The vita games have BETTER framerate. I couldnt enjoy Mk2 cause of its choppy rate. As for either Rebirth 1 or HDN1, I only played Rebirth so that's what i would tell you. I read that people disliked the first game's battle system.

I kinda liked HDN's battle system.

And HDN had more events and references.

And Rebirth 3 hasn't come out yet so that is too soon to judge.

I think you mean NIS. Several employees left NIS for jobs at IF because they paid a lot more money.

I'm most likely skipping Neptunia U for the Blanc game.

Both Steam games are 70% off.

Talk me out of hell, cause I can't refund DLC.

I now hate how much Neptunia gets so much flak by people who don't even play it.

At least it's a series that knows what it is and isn't trying to improve so much that they end up becoming a shadow of its former self (tales bullcrap)
