So playing Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f has reminded me of how much I enjoy rhythm games. I was wondering if anybody had any other [kinda recent] titles to recommend.
I've got the Ouendan games (no interest in Elite Beat Agents,) Rhythm Thief and Project Diva f. I'll be getting Diva f 2nd when it comes out, and I plan on picking up Rhythm Heaven Wii sometime.
Any other recommendations? I'm mostly looking for button-based rhythm games, as opposed to waggle or touch-based ones. I don't really like the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy games...

Obligatory Parappa recommendation.

I was kinda hoping for something more recent. Parappa, Guitaroo Man, Umjammer Lammy, etc. would probably be difficult to acquire.

The Parappa and Guitaroo man remakes are pretty easy to obtain for the PSP, if you have one.
And there are always the Bit.Trip games and the newly released Crypt of the Necrodancer.
I have not had a chance to play it yet, but my girlfriend played it at PAX and fell in love with it. Especially recommended on the off chance that you have a dance pad to hook up to your PC.

I would say Sound Voltex since it's become incredibly popular, but unless you're near a machine or someone who has it then you're mostly out of luck. It's stocked almost entirely with independent artists; a ton of Vocaloid artists, some Touhou doujin circles (and much more in SDVX2). My rhythm game friends are all over it. Pretty fun.

I have a Vita, so unless they're PSP digital titles...And unfortunately I'm not really interested in PC or arcade games. The fact that Necrodancer is an indie game immediately introduced a a hardcore roguelike [rhythm game] is an instant turn-off, jesus christ these indies could give EA and Activision a run for their money. I have Beat and Runner though.
Sound Voltex is interesting though. Definitely up Konami's alley...It's like if you mixed Beatmania with StepMania, but the only creators were vetted users of user-created content. I really don't have any arcades in my area, that I know of, hence the lack of interest. At most there's probably a sect of the FGC at a local university.
Oh! Has anybody played DJMax Technika Tune? That's on Vita, but I never met anybody who's played it and I think those games are super hard.

Its too bad you're not interested in PC Rhythm games, because Audiosurf is pretty fun. You can play it with any song you want, too.

Have not played the Wii version, but the DS one is great. I played it in japanese long before it even got announced for localization.

I have Audiosurf. The vast majority of PC rhythm games are based around the same gimmick of generating interactive experiences from your audio library, or they're just free form in general. The Bit.Trip games are maybe a rare exception with an actual soundtrack and scripted gameplay.
But it still comes down to, I want a rhythm GAME. Right now I feel that Sega's actually top dog with the Miku games and Rhythm Thief. I looked into the PSP library on Vita, and Parappa's there, but Guitarooman Lives! is not, which is a shame because it's actually by the Ouendan guys!

I personally loved 2. 3 takes away the charm of having to command an entire army for a standard party of 4. 3 is still very excellent though because of that enhanced evolution trees and skill farming, as well as the dungeon system giving more flavor to the gameplay. It's just that, I love seeing tons of arrows and spears flying towards the humongous monsters.
Patapon also have a charming soundtrack. Seriously, who wouldn't love the sound of children singing around and chanting warcry?
