It is? Wow.

Well, I'm pretty much a closet 'that W-word' myself, so I usually called my acquaintances with that word jokingly.

Taiyz wrote:
Either way, we're not fascists here, you can, y'know, make a thread yourself

Also does anybody besides you read online translations of light novels here?
That's the problem though. There's hardly anyone interested in LN/WN here to warrant enough discussion, even as a general topic. Same goes for manga discussion probably.

Guess I just have to tone down my weeab-level. Though it's only recently that I really take interest in LN/WN scene myself, so I'm also one of the filthy casuals when it comes to my taste in LN.

I mean in reality it's not, because it literally came from a comic and somebody on 4chan said "hey let's pretend this comic is about anime nerds" and it stuck, but it's just such a shitty internet thing to say. It's not something to wear with pride, and you shouldn't be shaming yourself either. We took back the words nerd and geek, so fuckin' use 'em. I don't think people even care if we call ourselves otaku anymore (even though Japanophile was always a better word,) there was a time where people rolled their eyes and mocked our kind if we used that word, but I don't see that anymore.

TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR NERDINESS, HANG YOUR DAKIMAKURA LIKE A FLAG OF VICTORY

Quoting myself because of my unnatural talent to get paged.
Taiyz wrote:
Well, I finally made a playlist for Assassin's Creed's musical trailers. I left out ACIII because although it seems like they had licensed music, it was instrumental and not very impactful, I think they also had a trailer with the American national anthem (might've been Amazing Grace, think that trailer came out on Independence Day.) I also don't think I've explored all the AC trailers yet so there may be others, but these are all the ones I have seen (fun fact: I had completely forgotten about the Horizon trailer for Black Flag, I actually found it while compiling the others, but YouTube claims I have watched it.) There's also technically a second musical trailer for Rogue omitted for the same reason, there's a vocal-less trailer for the original game featuring a cello track, don't know if that was licensed or not.

Why did I compile this list? Because it's nostalgia supreme. A lot of these trailers (excluding the Revelations, Unity and Syndicate ones) were overlooked by most of the community because they weren't reveals or E3 trailers, but they're easily one of the most iconic things that stand out in my mind when I reminisce about the series. It's also a rather startling journey through the previous generation of both game engines and YouTube compression (ignoring Revelations and Unity, again.) Enter Rome is also probably one of the greatest video game trailers ever, IMO.

Anyway, enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ixr2q8bHo8&list=PLTKxKzJFxO1VlCHa3xHl7zzRS4m45IoyE

I was just being Funny McFunnimans.

Anyway, I got Platinum in Sayonara Umihara Kawase+. Feels really good considering how challenging the game is.

Pos: More packing done!

Neg: Packing nearly all my Collector's/Limited Editions all at once = anxiety city. I actually found some spare bubble wrap and other packing material and started padding the sides for those because FML if any of those get damaged. Also: HANDLE WITH CARE in extra large lettering.

lol: my mom kept telling me "It's not even that far! Nothing's gonna get damaged!" and I'm like NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE gonna worry anyway! I'm a gaming otaku - that's like my LIFEBLOOD in there!

Taiyz wrote:

Yes! This exactly!

Wait no - I actually wouldn't go that far considering a daki being included is exactly why I *didn't* order the Neptunia U Collector's Edition. I may be an otaku but I still have my pride.

That's really weird, I mean the game's gonna embarrass you in other ways because it's made by Tamsoft of Senran Kagura fame.

Assuming I'd ever play the game with company around <_< >_>

That said, I did get the Mugen Souls Limited Edition, which came with a friggin BODY SPONGE, which is arguably just as creepy (if not more so!), but it also came with two nendoroid petits, which kind of balanced that out. The rest of the bonuses with the Neptunia U CE didn't really push me to get it in spite of the daki.

Sorry, double posting 'cuz reasons.

Neg: I don't know if my parents just don't have any faith in me living on my own and being able to take care of myself or if they just refuse to give up their role in my life, but to me it seems to be very much the former and probably a little of the latter as well. They keep opening their mouths and saying incredibly stupid things that make me feel seriously insulted.

I seem to be the only one who understands this whole "getting the hell out of your house so I can be more independent" concept.

For Example:
Yes Dad, I want to be able to start working 9-5. Yes, you would still be able to go to work when you want to, why the hell would me getting there at 9 make a difference? Why did you respond as if it would be a problem and I'd be trampling all over your freedom? The whole idea behind me moving is to stop YOU from trampling all over MINE. I will be WALKING to work from the apartment thank you very much.

To be specific: as if he were assuming me going to work at 9 meant HE would have to do the same - in order to pick me up at the apartment or something - he said something like, "Well I would like to go to work when I want." NO SHIT, SO WOULD I. That was like, my WHOLE point.

f*** working 9 hours every God damn day, simply because you want to get into work at 8AM. That's an entire hour EVERY DAY that I'm not even paid for because I'm on salary! (To be fair, there are multiple reasons why this problem exists, but being able to just come in at 9 would fix the issue entirely.)

Pos: Most of my stuff is packed - just have a cabinet full of game systems and a couple shelves left.

Fick: Jesus Christ, so many boxes! I had no idea I had crammed so much STUFF into this one little room. Moving into a place with more space to myself is LONG overdue.

Congratulations on moving out. I always have a difficult time adjusting to living with my parents when I come home from uni, can only imagine out good that feels lol.

Fick: Remember when we had separate threads for P/N?

Pos: I picked up KH 1.5 recently. I know they tweaked the difficulty a tiny bit but I feel like I was better when I was younger.

Pos: Recently saved up enough pretty princess points to afford this costume

I have no idea what country you're from, nor how people generally react to people that are "queer" over there. Something tells me that I don't want to know, but it might have been much worse when your mother was still a child. I do think she is willing to shield you though! She is trying to protect you and the rest of her family to the best of her ability (the only way she knows how to). At least that's the impression I get. This isn't about her though, this is about you.

And I have no idea how much protection you'll need.

Don't worry, I'm Canadian! And my parents aren't that crazy about it so I'm completely 100% safe! (mostly) My parents are from Guyana though, and things like that are just either not talked about or just regarded with the same disdain as mental disorders or developmental problems which are also not treated very well. I can only sum up their background's influence with the word ignorance because its complicated LOL

Pos: Things have heated up cooled down heated up again then cooled down at home, I'm not sure where anything stands right now but I'm a whole lot more confident that I got this, whatever life brings next.

Pos: Off academic probation, no longer in danger of losing the honours on my degree!! (unless i suck again)

Pos: Really enjoying my summer course, Linguistics

Neg: Had to retake Stats because I sucked at it and I need a good mark for grad school, or at least not a D

Pos: Going to Anime North this Saturday \o/ my first con, I hope its fun

Pos: Spent a lot of time with my niece on the long weekend

Pos: Positive mindset is getting easier, had a bit of a period where I knew depression was kicking in but I didn't let me spiral this time, no more nevers, only whens and wills

Pos: Saw my favorite band in concert, and it was awesome. These guys and their music mean a great deal to me since I discovered them, in just how much it's helped me keep moving on the days when I just felt like giving up.

I won't shut down when the mountains won't move, crawling to the top if it's the last thing I do!

Fick: Been playing Show By Rock all day. I learned that a bunch of indie bands I like(Silhouette from the skylit, Kafuka, Asu,Terasu/Asstellus, 04 Limited Sazabys) are actually bands in the game so I've begun to have a great bias for the game.
Positive: My coworker joked about me dying my hair the company colours, so I actually did and it looks pretty good on me.

LOL: Leave it to one of my neighboring high schools to always do the stupidest of pranks. Some things never change...

http://www.myfoxdc.com/story/29150642/senior-prank-lady-bugs-high-school

Why they can't just can't put up hardcore porn all over the school before school hours like mine did, I'll never know. Like one year that high school put up a huge confederate flag on the side of barn that's next door as if it's the funniest thing ever. Rednecks are somethin' else.

Neg: Cousin of mine who'd been in a coma for over a month with no chance of recovery died last week and we're JUST now being told about it tonight.

Missed the funeral.
Missed meeting with the rest of my relatives so I couldn't console them. His two kids lost their father and I couldn't do shit about it. Having been down this route myself only has me tearing up inside when thinking of them.

How the f*** does your family forget about you when something like this happens? We'd had been recently in contact with them too before last week. It's not like they're distant relatives either...

To say I'm both utterly pissed off and depressed would be a goddamn understatement. What the actual f***.

WTF Sui that's really screwed up. Condolences  : (

Fick: it is "planned" that the apartment will be ready for me to move in this weekend. It'd better be. >:[

Once I move I'll have to access the forum exclusively from my phone until I have internet but I'll be around. If you're later wondering why you don't see me on Skype next week, that's why.

Definitely bringing up this bullshit tomorrow with my therapist. Feeling a clusterfuck of emotions right now. Someone screwed up and they screwed up big time.

Edit as life seems keen to throw curveballs: Friend of mine started having intestinal pain last night and earlier today had to go to the ER. Thankfully it's nothing serious and all that needs to be done is minor corrective surgery.

I'm emotionally spent at this point.

Jeez Sui, curveballs indeed! D:

I'm at work right now but if you need to talk, or even just vent, feel free to send me a PM and I'll try to get to it during my lunch break or something.

As someone who's had life repeatedly kick me while I'm down in the recent past, I hate to see it happening to someone else - least of all a friend.

Shocked Holy cow Sliv I hope you're ok - the short answer sounds like a "no" though. Hope you get better soon. Sad
Have you seen a doctor? Hopefully it isn't anything serious.
