| Has anyone played this game? I have seen mixed reviews about the game, where the critics hate it, but the people who have played it mainly enjoy the game. I have played the demo available from the Nintendo shop but with the option to only play one level, I was not interested too much. It seems like it can be fun but I never saw anything in the demo that made me think I must have the game. And then this happened... http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/26/sonic-lost-worldas-zelda-crossoverI want this game. I want to leave work now and go pick it up. What are your thoughts? | |

| I heard the Wii version is playable.
Speaking from personal experience, the 3DS version is Sonic 2006 in portable form.

| Nintendo fans are really annoying me right now. They don't give a flying f*** about the game until ol' Linkie makes a cameo.
Bottom line is, Sonic Lost World is my favourite Sonic game. It has a poor tutorial and kind of a steep learning curve because it explains concepts like wall-running poorly, but once you understand it, it plays amazingly. Some level gimmicks are frustrating, but there are some genuinely creative things and the tube-world concept totally surpasses the Mario Galaxy rip-off claims IMO.
And Abicion is correct, the 3DS version is an absolute joke. Even the 3DS version of Rayman Origins played and looked better.

But I like Rayman Origins 3D I didn't even know that was supposed to be a bad game.

| I agree with Taiyz, as far as 3D Sonic's go, Lost World is definitely my favourite. The Nintendo themed DLC packs are just icing on the cake. | |

I get your point, and that wasn't my intent. I have played the demo and the game seems fun, but there was nothing in the demo that made me want to rush out an buy the game. Perhaps I conveyed my thoughts poorly, but I wouldn't buy the game just to get the Zelda DLC. I would buy the game for the game itself and the DLC is an extra perk. What I really wanted to do was just share the news about the Zelda DLC while also getting opinions about the game since there wasn't a topic about it here.

| My ire wasn't really directed at you, I had just been reading a really shitty thread on another site about it. Lots of people claiming that Sega was relying on Nintendo for pity and other nonsense.
And yeah, the problem with Sonic game demos is that the first stage is always pretty samey. They're almost always direct references to Green Hill zone and have similar visuals (Sonic Unleashed was a bit different at least.) If they could show some of the more interesting stages it'd be a much better demo. Of course, later stages are also more complicated and use more mechanics, so I understand why they didn't. IMO they should've included a 2D stage in addition to the first level.
