| I don't know if anyone is a fan of the TMNT, but IDW started a new series of TMNT comics a couple of years ago. If you like the TMNT but prefer something a little darker than the original cartoon series, I think you should check it out. The IDW series does a good job of combining all of the old iterations of the TMNT into one story while still presenting something new. Anyway, I thought I would share if anyone was interested. | |

| I was a reader of that line of TMNT comics for a while. I stopped at the end of the Krang War storyline, which kinda dragged on and wasn't that great. Last I read was issue one of the Secret History of the Foot Clan, which I really digged and wanted to continue after that, but non of my comic shops had issue 2 (I guess it sold well) and I was completionist for that line of TMNT comics, I guess, in that I read the series and the tie-in micro series, so, when I couldn't read that, I just decided to drop the series, for now. PLUS, I read looooots of comics, so, I didn't feel like I was missing a lot. A shame, cuss I hear City Fall was a damn good storyline. I might pick the series back up someday, pick up some trade copies. As for the nickelodeon cartoon, I think it's fine, it's a decent fun series. I like how each of the turtles is well defined for more than just their colored mask & weapon. I wasn't a fan of Donatello's gapped tooth at first, but it grew on me (plus, I looove Rob Paulson). Also Splinter is pretty funny here and there. It ain't great, some things are great, but some can be kinda bland for the kiddie audience. But, shit, TMNT has been around for decades, I'm always down for new iterations. This cartoon & current comic seem good enough to fit that role. ... Oh yeah, there's a movie or something coming out, right? oh mai gerd, what's wrong with your faaaace!? | |

| The thing that destroys me with the new nick cartoon is that the person who voices Donatello voiced Raphael in the original cartoon and I feel like he hasn't made any changes to his voice, so when I watch it and Donatello speaks, I hear Raphael.
I agree that the Krang War was kind of boring and dragged on, but once you get past that, the series really picks up. The City Fall saga was amazing. That is all I want to say without giving anything away. Finally, I will give the new movie a try, but am really pissed that the Shredder isn't going to be Oroku Saki.

| Eeh, I remember watching the old cartoon, but I guess I didn't have fond memories of it cuss I BARELY remember Raphael sounding so dorky. Then again everybody sounded dorky, watching it now just makes it more fun. lol Shredder. To me, it kinda fits better with this incarnation of Donatello, but that's just me. And like I said, I'll most likely jump back onto the series at some point. Figures I ditch it when it starts to look like it's getting good. <_< - Quote :

What? He's not? ... Then what is he? Just some asshole? According to IMDB, William Fichtner is going to be the Shredder. I suppose he could still be Oroku Saki, but I don't really think of a white person when I hear the name Oroku Saki.

| Oh ... Seriously? I love that guy.
I'm sold now. lol.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't think he's great for that part, but, I still expect NOTHING really good to come out of this film, so, adding weird shit like that is only making me kinda wanna see it.
Also, he might be okay. Shredder has a mask ... Might just be Bill in a mask the entire movie, like V for Vendetta. He was the only part I liked about The Lone Ranger movie. So, might work.

| It has been a long time since there have been any posts in this topic, but I just found out there is a Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters crossover comic that will have 4 issues. If IDW keeps with their trend, it will probably be released into a volume sometime late next year (the first issue just came out last month). | |
