| If Namco developed an M-rated Tales game where the main gimmick all of the characters died in hilariously poetic ways, would you buy it? It would be sort of like that one part of Symphonia if everyone was actually dead. | |

| So, basically it would be a continuous stream of this?
"Go on without me! You must survive, Mr. Generic-main-character-sama, only you can save this world from it's terrible fate."
"No! You can't leave me, Miss Scrappy-love-interest! Not now. Not after all we've been through together..."
"What, those three minutes?"

| Yeah basically. But it would be more like 50+ hours of regular Tales shenanigans / character development, and then everyone dies off in systematically brutal ways in the final dungeon. | |

| Why not do it systematically throughout the whole game? Keep the player on edge?
There's 50+ canon main characters you can work your way through.
Not to mention, killing characters off in rapid succession would have to be done extremely well for it to build up momentum. Otherwise it'll feel like a farce and lose all meaning.
If you give the player/ reader just enough time to come to terms with the death of a main character, right at that time they start to feel safe again, that would be the opportune moment to kill of the next one.
If you're going for the biggest impact, which I assume you are if you want to deliver quality work.

| I'd prefer characters dying depending on your actions. The path where everyone lives being the hardest to get even with a guide. | |

It could take roughly 50+ hours to achieve it too.
