I remember in Awakening, you can rename forged weapons. Won't it be easy to proc that skill then? Not that I know if the japanese version allow kanji to be put when renaming, nor would I know how they'd implement it in English.

I think it's more of a blatant homage, considering those three were the most popular children. Lucina is obviously not going to make an appearance (hopefully), being a main character she was.

I like the children, but their DLC campaign was rather morbid, so I'm kinda glad I can play with them again in another (hopefully lighter) adventure.

Yeah I'm now convinced that Tsubaki is indeed a rule 63 Cordelia because of his Innate Skill - Perfectionist. It's an amusing thought if the popular parents are genderswapped in Hoshido while popular children are in Nohr.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought those 2 looked like Owain and Inigo.

They do what sells. At that, to this day, the main characters(both male and female)' attire still bugs me. PUT ON SOME SHOES IF YOU'RE GOING INTO BATTLE LIKE THAT. You're not a friggin' laguz in human form goddammit.

This is actually a good story element, especially for FE. The problem with the DLC is that it lacks true fulfillment to the player; execution in other words. You know of Lucina's time, and yet the final battles are similar to the main story's and doesn't have anything that would act as a catalyst for going for that final stretch, akin to a optional boss that would wreck your shit if you're not prepared. Then again, that's just my opinion. I feel it could of been more.

Oh no, I like characters from both versions T_T but I like more from Hoshido so i'll probably get that. I really love the new weapons triangle and a formal Lancer class! I'm actually excited for a lot of the new classes~

A little annoyed at the overly obvious expy's but its not like its the entire party its just 3 characters so no big deal.

Guess I'm gonna get the Nohr version to adopt some children with Zero.

So I don't really mind the fact that Nintendo is releasing the game as two campaigns (however the vagueness of this third story is not a good sign,) but can we just take a step back and acknowledge how ridiculous it is that one of the major features is that each version features a love interest of a specific gender?

May as well just call 'em Fujoshi Conquest and Yuri Birthright at this point, lets just hope that the third game isn't Fire Emblem yIFf.

There are two ways you could take my statement. Either, Nintendo's releasing gay and lesbian versions of their games which is hilarious (I realize that you could also be straight) or the fact that we've finally reached a point where RELATIONSHIPS are version differences in addition to the roster of recruitable characters, which is kinda gross.

This game has advertised more love/life simulator stuff than actual traditional FE gameplay - what did you expect? They want this game to be a success and they know the stuff to make it sell.

Also, it was confirmed that this game does indeed have online battles: An army of 5v5 according to SerenesForest. I'm still not convinced. At least they promise to have a more complex story.

Just a heads up for the people avoiding spoilers. Turns out, people are ALREADY playing the 3rd path.

Why? The game card has the debug codes, which means people have easier way to data mine and discovered the name of the 3rd path chapters. The thing is, the 3rd path is not available to purchase BUT IT'S ALREADY UPLOADED INTO NINTENDO SERVERS AND PEOPLE ARE PIRATING IT.

So yes, be more careful when searching for characters and such since you can get the whole game spoiled.

Man, why doesn't Nintendo just cut to the chase and turn Fire Emblem into the fantasy dating simulator they want it to be?

Yeah but there are only two marry-able characters yeah? And presumably you have to hook up with a first-genner anyway.

The fact that you cannot marry everyone is actually more exciting from a fanboy pov. I'm not sure if I got my info correct but it seems you can only marry in a same-sex relationship in the third path.

The problem I have with the way Fire Emblem has handled marriage, is that Awakening was basically an anime husbandy sim, and this game only has two characters you can hook up with. It's a stark contrast.

Don't worry, your character can still marry everyone of the opposite gender.

Ah that's better, and I'm assuming there's NPC marriages to lead into the second generation, and all NPC pairings are straight.

So anyone know where I can find leaks of the character portraits, rips, etc? :- )

Pretty much, yeah.
The second gen are now tied to the father unit, unlike in Awakening which were tied to the mother.
There's only two gay pairings (one male unit in Nohr, and one female unit in Hoshido). Those two can still marry someone of the opposite gender but they're also gay for your avatar
