Has her Japanese voice always been like that? It's really high-pitched...And that quote at the end, is that supposed to be "in the name of the moon, I will punish you"?

To Taiyz's end, I'm genuinely curious.  The animescape is such a different place since the original adaptation.  On the other hand... the series basically games the "system" before the system as it exists now did.


That said, loving how much closer to the mangaka's style this one is- those eye angles threw me off at first but then it hit me.

Yup, and hers is the only voice returning from the original anime.

Viz announced they were dubbing this as well as releasing a redub of the original series.

Well there are more superior dubs now a days and the old ones will get pulled off the internet without ever seeing the light of day again. What if this happens to the old dub of Sailor Moon and yes there is an old dub. Show of hands, who here watched the old dub when they were younger?

In fact, there has to be a way for the old dub to coexist with the new.

That's not really Viz's problem. They, much like NISA with Cardcaptor Sakura, apparently don't have access to the original dub. At this point it's up to the pirates to keep the old dub alive.

It's strange that you would bring up "ethics" when it comes to this. Like I said, Viz is making a new dub mostly because they can't get the original.

Why not just buy the tapes and dvds of the old dub?

I can't believe no one ever thought of that.

Wait a minute. Most dub sites don't use the NISA version of Cardcaptor Sakura. They use the Canadian version. Maybe... there's hope that the old dub will stay.

Of course I set up something on facebok to support the old dub so it doesn't fade away. After all, Sailor Moon fans grew up with the old dub. Some won't accept anything but that, because they are so used to it.
