This is just Japan protecting on their stuff the problem there is that foreign piracy doesn't affect them in any fucking way.

Yes and no. A lot of websites will run with their tails between their legs and 70% of yt anime shit will be hit with a copyright flag, Japan is forgetting that the ones who give us the raws are their own people, so unless they deal with that first we will keep doing this.

Well they did give the sites a heads up. So most should be safe, and the dubbed stuff should be safe. There are two videos using Yoko Littner STARS clips using Perfection by Exceeder. Will those be affected?

It's hard to say what'll actually change; personally I see illegal streaming sites getting the axe in favour of CrunchyRoll and manga upload sites like MangaFox will probably be killed off.

Just a heads up; this likely ain't going to affect places like nyaatorrents and etc. I've heard their targets are mostly chinese and south-eastern countries' websites.

That's not too surprising. Always gotta keep in mind that it's not just The West and Japan. Anime fans rarely consider Japan's relationships with other asian countries (and that's mostly because they rarely affect us, case in point.)

Yeah, apparently anime and manga is extremely popular south-eastern asia and so there's a clear incentive to pirate anime, much like the situation in brazil with video games.

Was it really? At least there doesn't seem to be any indication that major sites have been affected... Though I've not seen the list itself because the link to the NHK article seems to be broken for whatever reason.

animefreak.tv was among them and so is youtube.

I don't see how youtube is a problem... They have a system in place for that. They're probably gonna get directed towards that.
