The point I made about account conversion is that I don't get the impression that converting keeps your stats, just your appearance. In episode 25 he tells Leafa that he "wiped" his stats, not that he created a new character, he was still using the bugged hybrid character, and presumably still is.

I'm also not sure about the conversion system, but the small bit of description goes like this - "sao players can choose to use their old character in ALO, including appearance", as if the appearance part is only an afterthought, so there must be more to the conversion.

But yeah, I'm probably mistaken about creating new character, but he did indeed wipe his stats.


For the LN, abec definitely nailed the illustration for Spriggan non-spiky haired Kirito. It's like a nice, moderate mix of irl kirito and his spriggan avatar.


At least it doesn't look as blatant reuse of SAO/irl design of him, and actually captured the basic features of Spriggan (prominently, the mischievous eyes). The hairdo also looks like "originally spiky hair being styled to not be spiky", rather than a direct swap to "flowy short generic japanese hair". The screens you shot (the one that shows their irl and avatar) also shows that his hair is indeed spikier in the game.

Yeah, you make a good point. The eyes in the Fairy Dance arc were notably different (particularly the scene after the mining town) but yeah after that arc I firmly believe that they've just tacked elf ears onto vanilla Kirito, in the anime.

That illustration you posted definitely gels with what you said, inhuman eyes and spiky hair without it matching his real hair.

It's nice to know the context, but that seems like something the anime really should've covered, it's not even mentioned in EE's Sword Art Offline.

I AM HERE TO DISCUSSS BUTTS, specifically Sinon's.

So remember that one awkward scene in the cave in GGO where Sinon's lying on her stomach and Kirito stares right at her ass? The dub made it more obvious that it was a Metal Gear moment (this is important.) She was missing her sidearm after dropping it in front of Death Gun and that's what got him thinking about why Death Gun "couldn't" shoot him with the Type 54 Black Star.

Now, there was still a frivolous butt shot after that which didn't involve Kirito, but now I know why Kirito was staring the first time...The subs really didn't make that clear.
