I got sets of gifs here (found on Tumblr) that are a bit too coincidental. Gifs on the left are from Suikogaiden Vol 1: Swordsman of Harmonia and y'all know what's on the right. Suikogaiden came out in 2000 with ToS coming out a few years later... I'm not sure if Namco was doing an homage or what, but I find it freakin' awesome.
Thoughts?

Pfft, that's great. Looking over the notes by Sotozaki for that OP's storyboard, they don't mention those parts being influenced by anything, but I never really expected him to go right out and say it anyway. Oh well.

I think it's probably more ufotable's decision as fans of the series. Funny because with the trademark cycle for Abyss, one of the titles reserved was Tales of Harmonia (not that it's any more than a coincidence). Yeah great find though, whoever it was.

That can't have been a coincidence...
Perhaps they used actors for the choreography and based the animations on them, then later recycled the footage of the actors?
Now I'm curious how many series have overlapping sequences like these. It could make for a ridiculous video.

Wasn't there a fight scene in Naruto that was extremely similar to one from the Cowboy Bebop movie?

Also in Rurouni Kenshin Yahiko vs Kenji similar Kratos vs Lloyd.

I'm sorry but I can't take a video seriously if it starts with "au revoir Mithos" for some reason.
French, to me, is a very upbeat (and perhaps sensual) language, so Genis saying "au revoir mithos" definitely implies that they will meet again in the near future, with a dynamic entrance and extra flamboyance.
