Who do you main?

So far I've only played as Jude and am having a little trouble grasping everything that's going on at a time. I'm still used to the days of Symphonia and Abyss in which it was clear which arte you were using and which artes it could combo into (and when to input the command for the next arte).

After not playing this game for a couple of months, I'm having a lot of trouble getting back into the LBMS. Jude seems easiest to control, but I'm looking for a bit of advice on how each character should be played, or how you control them.

Which character do you enjoy playing as the most?

And why?

Jude. Snap Pivot is too good. I usually have him linked to Alvin for the Guard Break bonus.

Anyway, could you elaborate a little on how exactly you're having trouble? Is it just getting combos down, are you confused about what properties certain moves have, what?

what is hard about using beast and steel ad nauseam?

Personally, I enjoy playing as the main hero in every Tales game, so it's Jude here. I actually am not using Snap Pivot all that much because of how the (big) bosses are designed in this game, but when I do pull it off in the face of danger, it sure felt awesome. I love using Beast then Steel/Raging Blast at the start of any combo because of the guard and iron stance/penetrate breaking properties; it helps a lot against bosses because I won't need to take the risk of being hit back while trying to break his iron stance.

And because of my love for Beast, I have Leia as support always.

Anyway, I think for AC and CC-based games, you're going to have to get the feel of combo by yourself, regardless of what anyone might say about which arte is good for when. For instance, I find a lot of Youtubers pulling off pretty awesome stuff with Swallow Dance and Rising Falcon, but I just can't bring myself to play like them as I'm more of a ground fighter. Even when airborne, my repertoire only consists of Cyclonic Surge then bombarding the enemy with Phoenix Plunges.


Honestly, I keep wanting to play as Milla because of the flashiness of her skills but was never able to because I am unable to grasp her playstyle too, so I'm really looking forward for a reply from Milla mainers.

Leia, easy to play as melee, decent damage, and above all else, aerial game and waifu. Milla is also good, but I enjoy playing as Leia more.

Rowen (linked with Elize) is pretty fun to play as well, since his spells are pretty great to control and pretty amazing combined with his endgame skills that help in casting.

Jude. He's a monster.

Jude or Milla. I just love to use some magic while flying   

Rowen gets my vote. He can improve spirit artes.

I really love maining Milla, I like her style and also Aerial Spell and her elemental resistances are awesome.

I also like Elise (Negative Gate spam ftw), but I like using her better in X2.

Leia, Alvin, and Milla are my mains. Been using Alvin a lot lately. Bro levels over 9000

Milla she is much fun to use win I did play as Jude oh god did I miss Milla magic but playing as Jude is alright as for TOX2 that a different story
