| What all RPGs have you played where you've enjoyed and/or been motivated to gain levels and why?
Some for me are: Secret of Mana: I had fun building up weapon and spell levels. Final Fantasy 6: When I discovered that the desert outside of Maranda is a great place to gain magic levels, I spent a lot of time there after getting all the party members back. Bravely Default: Lately, I've been building up my characters job levels in and outside the Vampire Castle. It's exciting to see what what moves the characters will learn.

| Final Fantasy VII: To enhance materia levels, to gain new abilities through them, or max them to equip to Barret's ultimate weapon for more power, etc.
Final Fantasy X: Proceed through sphere grid to unlock roles for characters, such as black magic for Yuna when she is originally for White magic.
Various FF's: Because fun.
Tales of Legendia: To seek out and collect eres stones to unlock new eres/artes for characters when they were available or to become available.
Tales of Vesperia: To unlock skills and SP to use them in battle.
Various Tales: Because Fun.
Various Pokemon: To level Pokemon to evolve, or new attacks or attack types that can be useful in upcoming battles.

| Phantasy Star IV. Just because I was absolutely hooked on the game as a kid, I got everybody to level 100. There were these mini Dark Force guys in the final dungeon that you could find in a specific area that provided the most EXP.
Wild ARMs: Alter Code F: I needed to get all the Ex File Keys before starting Wild ARMs 4 because games with save transfers from an earlier title generally only let you do it once, and usually only at the beginning of the game. To do this you need to get everybody to level 100, but there's a pretty simple tactic you can do, involving these experience-rich enemies on the ocean that run away almost immediately, to guarantee that Rudy will be able to attack before they can do anything. Just Lock-On and you win.

| Shadow Hearts 2 because you need to be a pretty decent level to do Solomon's last few trials.
Rune Factory 3 & 4 because I love maxing things out in those games and both have absurdly high level caps. RF 4 caps out at 50K...
Various Dragon Quest games either due to a class system or in the case of 9 because of insanely OP map bosses.
All Suikoden games because I wanted to see each max character's potential with runes.

| Apart from the first game, Shadow Hearts games have some weird level balancing. I did the optional dungeon in From the New World but the final boss of the game is still very difficult. Thankfully you can cheese it by using a couple items to give yourself the maximum number of spins on the Judgment Ring and then an item that means you only have to hit it once and it triggers them all, I think it prevents you from getting criticals with that character but the damage from that first item is worth it. | |

| Neptunia games, cause grinding. Ys games cause fun action combat and leveling helps in surviving boss fights., and KH games since abilities are unlocked with leveling, either your character or BBS's and 3D's gimmick level ups (Abilities and Dream Eaters) and combat is fun and flashy.
Wild Arms 5 had you using levels as currency so it was an added motivation to the already fun battle system.
Iris 2 and Radiant Historia made leveling fun because of their bonus exp based on your combo chain count. Nor turn based games need something like those, rewards you for making your chaining high and versatile.

| It also helped that Atelier Iris 2 had a really fast battle system, it felt like a turn-based action game at times after you memorized the menu. | |

| Xenoblade Chronicles - Flawless game Legend of Legaia - Amazing Tekken-like battle system. Took forever to level up in that game but it was too fun to care | |

| I agree with FF6 and Kingdom Hearts games
FF9 and Vesperia to get to keep skills grinding doesn't seem as bad when you are getting skills then switching equipment and getting other ones
Persona 3 and 4: Once I got the hang of getting the exp boost cards at the end of battle grinding gets a bit addictive
Tales of Graces F: leveling Titles was kind of fun, and its cool to see bonuses stack and characters get gradually stronger
