| Was there some way to remove the ads, or do we have to rely on ad block? =') | |

| That was all Drake's doing, unfortunately. Check Forum Modifications General in the announcements subforum if you don't remember what was discussed there. I've got no clue how he did it, to be honest. | |

| Oh right, it was Drake who fixed it. Do you have any idea if he's still around? Like, on skype or something. Because I'm still not sure how he did it either, lmao. | |

| Not that I know of, unfortunately. I did find his script though, it's under Modules, Javascript Code Management. The problem is that I don't know Javascript and I don't know what it's addressing/what caused it to work in the first place. I tried to create a new script and swapped out the div.mainmenu for the div that seems to be host to the ads according to Firefox's Inspector, but that didn't seem to do anything. I'm gonna move this into Announcements, maybe someone here knows JS (I don't care enough about these ads to learn enough Javascript to remove them.) Drake's script was - Code:
-
$(document).ready(function(){$("#page-body td > div.mainmenu").remove();$("#page-body table.forumline iframe").closest("table.forumline").remove()});

| I don't see the ads anyway unless I'm on my phone. I just see the blank area where they're supposed to be thanks to adblock.
I don't have any javascript experience so I can't fix it, but it looks like the ads are currently contained in a div that has a random class assigned to it (or the class is the id of the ad). This div is contained within a div with id "emptyidcc". You would want to use "emptyidcc" to find the ad's div relative to that id. Hiding the "emptyidcc" div itself would hide pretty much the entire forum.
Hiding the ads was kind of a bad idea though. They can shut us down over it. (Though hiding them is technically not the same as removing them.)

| I use Firefox with uBlock Origin and I see no ads on this site. | |

| I use adblock too, but the space where the ads are supposed to be kind of bugs me, haha. Maybe it's a bad idea to mess with it though, if they really can shut the forum down for it. | |

| The ads tend to rape my phone and tablet with full page ads for malware. Also get random ads that force the Google play store to open >_____< | |

| ^This is true, unfortunately. Also true: hiding them didn't fix that since the ads still loaded in the background. All Drake's script did was hide them after they loaded. | |
