| Alternative Title: "State of the Forumers 2018" Hello friends. We've been in this new year for a whole eighteen days. I hope they have been good days for you. I've been thinking of this forum and its slow, entropic march towards a cold, silent death. More than anything, its a crumbling hub for the wandering diaspora of the old Tales Forum, a waypoint whose main purpose is to act as a sort of shared digital totem. We look upon it like the lone pedestal of Shelly's Ozymandias, boundless and bare threads stretching to the the horizon. The remnants of a once, well, not great empire, but something anyways. Something that once meant a great deal to many of us. Personally, I find it kind of beautiful, in its own weird way. But the thing I wonder most upon visiting this dying ember of our once great flame is, "Where have all the fire keepers gone?" Or, perhaps less obtusely, "Whatcha all up to these days?" Which brings us to the purpose of this thread. In the broadest strokes possible, where is your life at right now? I figure this thread may be useful for satisfying more than just my own curiosity. My hope is that it will be a nice little record for all those who may wander back to this spot and say, "Hey, I wonder where so-and-so ended up?" And who knows, maybe in 2019, if man is still alive, if woman can survive,, then maybe we can do all this again. And again, until the darkness takes us all. --- So what are you up to these days, DoubleL?Thank you so much for asking. I'm currently living together with my long term girlfriend. Having completed my MFA in fiction writing a couple years back and losing a job writing content for Mass.gov, I soon realized that my job prospects were not great and that I hated the idea of going back to another content writing job. After a bit of directionless flailing, I decided to study up for the LSAT and see how that went. It went pretty well, so I decided to apply to some law schools and see how that went. Well that also went pretty well. Which brings us to now. I just entered the second semester of my 1L year at law school. Despite the difficulties and grind, I actually kinda like it. More or less. Usually. It doesn't leave me a lot of time to write, but I do continue to poke around with the novel I've been working on for the past four years. Hopefully, this is the year that I put the last bit of polish on the final draft and actually send the blasted thing out to agents. Hopefully.---- But anyways, that's me. Where's your life at? | |

| I will forever love this place, even if it’s mostly inactive. 2017 was pretty wild; finally got married, and gave birth to my beautiful daughter Luna When she’s old enough to go to daycare or pre-school, I might do some more studying. If not, I’ll continue my work as a nurse’s assistant. | |

| That's awesome! The fact that your daughter is named Luna makes me so happy, I can hardly handle it. | |

| Still wandering, still somewhere. The world is changing, but I'm still here. Not far from where I was before. I don't know if I should be moving on in life, or if I should be glad to have moved so little in such a furious storm.
But all the forums I've frequented are like this now. Hardly a dusting of posts a day if even that. People just don't use this type of system anymore.

| Lets see... last year I had top surgery at the beginning of march, got dumped by my girlfriend in July, and started university in September aiming for a BFA majoring in Digital Media&Design and minoring in drawing. | |

| Things for me aren't too different from before just continuing through college. Currently playing Tales of Berseria and waiting for the next game to be announced sometime. | |

| It's been a long long time, and I had the urge to visit again. This place, or the place that came before, was a huge part of my life for years. I still look back fondly on all my time here.
I'm not sure how many of y'all remember me, but I certainly remember all of y'all.
Nothing had ever consumed so much of me, and nothing ever has since. I never felt like I was a part of something like I did here, and I'm seriously grateful to have met each and every one of you.
As for how I'm doing, I can't complain. I have a good job and a wonderful girlfriend. I have my health and god willing it'll stay that way. Things could be better, but that's fine if we were all content with what we had we'd never progress, or something like that.
I may have tried a little hard here to say somthing profound and it probably fell flat. A wordsmith, I am not.
So; Tl;Dr - I miss y'all and this place so much.

| I found myself reminiscing while procrastinating on a paper, so I decided to drop by the forums I frequented back in the day. Doubt many of you remember me, but I remember most of you all. It's nice to see you people again (even though your posts are from a few months ago).
As for where I am in life, I graduated high school in May 2016 (from a school where I had basically spent my whole life, because it was a K-12 school), and in the same year wrote/directed/composed what people claim is the best musical in the school's history. Since then, I've been toiling in college at the slowest pace imaginable, where I've done reasonably well. Life is mostly boring, but I appreciate it.
I remember when I first found this place, teeming with life (can't remember whether that's actually true, haha) and abundant with nice people. I was but a wee tyke who had gained internet access way later than you'd expect a kid in southern California to get it. The second I was able to, I rushed here to make an account so I could chat with people about this little series we cherish. It's mostly barren here now, but I look back on the past with fondness. I sincerely hope you all are doing well.

| I wish this place was more active heh. I know many here have moved on to discord, and message boards as a whole are much less popular now compared to more social things like twitter...but still I graduated college in May 2017 and currently work for a business valuation firm. It's alright, but I have no idea about the future and if I'm going to be doing this long term. My whole life I just figured I'd be working in an office, which is what I'm doing now yeah. But I just don't know.... | |

| It would be nice if this place was more active. It looks like it was for a little while at least, but even that was only a tiny fragment of what the old forum would do on the average day. | |
