| Harbinger, why not just tell them that you're the arbiter of all mankind, the slayer of both those gone astray and those of undeath? Why not divulge to them the details of your last venture into the bowels of Whimsyshire and how time-consuming it is to loot those smiling clouds of their spoils? [spoilerbox="I mean does this look trivial to you?!"] [/spoilerbox] Surely they'd understand that! | |

Surely they'd understand that! I, uh... this would certainly change their perception of me, forever. - Venom wrote:

Apparently, guys who hang out with girls are more "attractive". Guys who are taken are also, apparently. I tend to hang out with girls, mostly. I mean, the overwhelming majority of my friends are girls.

Pretty much my problem right here. I'm just completely invisible to girls, but I never let that bother me. I've always just kinda focused on things that were more important to me, assuming I'd just find a girlfriend naturally along the way while focusing on those goals. Still single to this day, but oh well.

Still single to this day, but oh well. But hey, at least you got more time and money for yourself. I can't see myself splitting my time appropriately for other people Right now, I probably don't spend enough times with my friends (although I did 2 BBQ at my house this summer with my friends!). - Falcom wrote:

| I'm just completely genre blind. Completely genre blind.
The other day I came home late at night, and heard a lot of voices in the elevator. Turns out it was stuck at ground level, and just as I was about to try to open it, it opened on its own, revealing about 8 girls inside who quickly scrambled outside, talking about how scared they were and about spontaneous claustrophobia.
One of them immediately turned to me and said: "you... you saved us didn't you?"
And I instinctively, instinctively replied with the truth: "No, I-"
But I was cut short, by another girl who gave me a pitying look and then said to me in a soft motherly voice:
"You should've said 'yes'."
Then another girl levelheadedly explained she had forced the door open. They called the people responsible for the elevator and went on their way.
I took the stairs to my 7th floor apartment, just to be sure I wouldn't get stuck in the elevator, and pondered what just happened.

| Fick/Pos: I had been considering a trip to Tennessee to visit some friends within the next year. It's looking like that trip may come sooner rather than later.
Neg: T-Storm is currently completely DESTROYING my internet connection because my dad refuses to either A) Replace the router. B) Call CenturyLink to see if they'll FIX THEIR SHIT. C) Switch to Comcast.
Boy will I not miss this internet when I move out.

| Well a relationship founded on a lie wouldn't have been a good idea anyway, assuming that if you had said yes they immediately would have disrobed and dragged you into the elevator for a menage a neuf. | |

That's pretty much how I've gone about this kind of stuff. More often than not, romance has found me at times in life and especially when I least expect it. So I shaped the thought process that if it happens it happens. It'd get real lonely at times in the past but hey, that's life. - Tenshigami wrote:

This reminds me of the fact that I've got good friends in Nashville who I grew up with that I haven't seen in years that I ought to visit one day. O_O I've got another close childhood friend who's in Iowa but yeah... it's Iowa. I'll just wait for him to swing by Maryland again. >.>;;;;

| Pos: Was a pretty good day, had fun with friends and coworkers. Frick: Then SOMEONE mentioned something about Johnny Cash and my mind went to me realizing I haven't heard any Johnny Cash in a while and I thought I'd watch a Johnny Cash music video, hmm, how about that one where he covers than NIN song that always kinda makes me sad, oh, Hurt, that's what it's called. Neg: So I saw the Hurt music video and, I'm not suicidal, but I'm pretty depressed now. Frick: Sleep. | |

| Holy shit Megapos: My best friend just got ENGAGED!
This is like super HUGE news after an abusive relationship nearly bled him dry last winter. (I remember voicing my worries here in PNF at the time while being extremely vague about what was really going on because I didn't want to be pressed for details. It was... that bad.)
I've been chatting with both him and his fiance over the weekend, and I've gotta say, she has my full approval. She's like, totally perfect for him and I've been poking so much fun at how hilariously tsundere he is with her.
Her: he's blushing! Him: No I'm not! Me: ...tsundere rule #1!
Also she told me that he's totally done the whole "It's not like I did this for you or anything..." schtick multiple times. OMG it's hilarious and I'm so ridiculously happy for both of them.

Honestly this is great news!
Pos: Reading the second volume of the Kingkiller Chronicle: The Wise Man's Fear.
I'm so thrilled by this bookseries.
I just read for hours on end, completely neglecting everything else.
I honestly feel like writing my own stories again.

| Pos: Xillia 2 CE should arrive today. Pos: I've decided which apartment complex I want to move into! All that remains is waiting for an apartment to be available on the 3rd floor so I don't have to deal with the noise of people walking around above me. Pos: Getting better at driving, though the idea of getting on actual roads still makes me super anxious. My brother says he won't push me and we can stick to parking lots as long as it takes. Pos: Talking w/ my best friend and his fiance is just amazing. After so long using my empathic ability I discovered last year to soak up negativity like a sponge and offer my support and encouragement in its place, it's... a whole different experience when it comes to the other side of empathy. Holy shit. It's this that makes it all worth it. Pos: Life is wonderful! Life is wonderful! | |

| ^ Yer happiness is infectious!
Pos: It seems like lately my feelings over something very important to me have been growing much stronger.
Fick: With my sister now pregnant I realize there's going to be some potentially pretty major things in the not too distant future that I'd have to do all on my own. The realization of that scares me to an extent. She along with a few select others have been my supports, cheering me on.
I have been more honest with myself, more forthwith and open than ever before in my life. (For real.) This latest trend I've been on is an amazing one and one I'd like to explore further. I feel like I'm becoming a much more confident person and that realization is exhilarating.
I've come this far already so why stop now?
(Seriously, the old me would never have even posted this much.)
Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to proceed with my day smiling like an idiot all the while because I'm just that happy.

| I'm way more open here than I probably should be on a public forum too, Sui. But I hardly care. It's not like my real name is attached to my posts. (Though you can find it if you look hard enough.)
It's how I want to be, really. I got so tired of defining myself by the games I play and enjoy and sticking only to conversations about that. (Txn might remember that version of me from two years ago. Remember how much I talked about Baten Kaitos and whatever else I was playing? And like nothing else, besides maybe Slayers?) There's an actual human here, with an actual life beyond gaming. And it's about f***ing time I opened up to people in that regard.
Also, I know I tend to shower praise on here about my other group of friends that I reunited with last year after 10 years, but you guys are no less important to me and my life's journey of late, and I sometimes feel like I don't give you guys enough credit. My other friends may have been the catalyst that made me realize that, y'know, holy shit - things need to change! But it started with Tales Series Forum.
I started posting regularly on TSF in Spring 2012 because I started realizing THEN that something was wrong - my social life had disappeared and I had no friends and I knew I needed to do something, so I did.
Now, about 2.5 years later, I'm no longer defined as the person I was when I first came here. I am no longer defined simply as the angry, raging gamer, bitter at an industry changing in ways that do not meet my needs. There is now so much more to this person who goes by the name "Tenshigami". I have dreams, aspirations, plans for my future. I have things I struggle with, because I'm human. I also tend to break into these weird-ass 'speeches' like this from time to time, simply because all of this stuff is suddenly on my mind and I have this urge - this uncontrollable nagging feeling that I have to get it out. Right now someone may be reading this like "wtf is he on about" or "oh boy here we go again, he's in another one of his weird moods" but I don't even care.
Because you guys are awesome. I didn't get where I am today by my own power alone. I got here with the support of multiple online communities, you guys included.
Looking at where my life now is today, I can't thank you enough. Thank you guys so much for your support and encouragement. It's done more than just help get me where I am today - it's helped shape who I am. I couldn't have asked for more.

| Neg: I should be playing Xillia 2 too, if wasn't for not having a job, not having any kind of income and living on a 3rd world country with the hightest tax rate of the entire world.
And that's just remembers me that I'm literally one generation late on gaming.
