| When I started playing this game, I assumed it would have about the same difficulty buildup as its prequel but boy, was I mistaken. You don't get gald from all monsters and the bosses already deal a shitton of damage right from the start. I'm at the Garuda now but he already deals like 200+ damage and Marta rarely gets time to heal any of us. I can't remember the bosses in the prequel dealing that much damage at the start, even at mania. What did you guys think of the difficulty level of DotNW? | |

| Well, I am assuming you're playing the PS3 version?
The Wii version seemed waaaay less hard to me, to be honest, so I'm guessing they increased the difficulty.
To be honest, Garuda wiped the floor with me, so I grinded a bit at that point.
Afterwards, when more Katz Quests become available, I started doing all of them. Some of the early ones are definitely very hard because your level is too low, but at one point I leveled up 7 times during one Katz Quest, and that's how I am at a pretty comfortable level right after Garuda right now.
I know from experience that if I keep doing the Katz Quests like this, I'll be overleveled by the end of the game. At least, that's what happened in the Wii version...
Then again, it might've been changed since then.
Use monsters, not the original ToS cast.

| A bit rough at first, but once you start getting better monsters the game becomes a cakewalk. | |

Use monsters, not the original ToS cast. Yeah, I noticed the ToS cast are level capped so they're pretty much useless throughout the game. I've played the Wii version up till the point where I had to go to Flanoir when I lost interest in the game, simply because I didn't like the fact I couldn't play it with my classic controller pro. Why they never added that option is still beyond me ._.

Only on Mania and Unknown. On Normal and Hard they're actually quite viable.

| I think they didn't added classic controller pro etc support cause of the limited budget the game had. (also there are 4 arte slots less in the Ps3 version but those were shaking the wii controller in some way so pretty much 4 slots I never used anyway ) | |

Poor voice acting, mediocre storyline... the game deserved much better than what it became.

| And to think all of that is still better than the first game. | |
