| I wanted to play it when I was mostly playing the PS2, but I really haven't focused on that library since. | |

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but regardless YES, THIS. It was my very first PS2 game I kid you not. It was an impulse buy because it was the only RPG on the shelf at Best Buy when I bought my PS2, and I did not regret it.

| Anything from the Department Heaven series: Riviera, Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare and Gungnir (Which I'm currently playing through.).
Puyo Series, though it is popular enough in Japan to have a crossover game with Tetris--what a childhood dream.
Anddd the Fighting/RPG hybrid game on the N64 called Flying Dragon--or Hiryu No Ken Twin if that rings a bell.

| Unfortunately the problem with puzzle games is that there really isn't a definitive version. Each one has various quirks that make it better or worse than the other games, whether it's control, music, visuals or game modes. I have a similar issue with Bust a Move, I loved the Gameboy Colour version but all the versions that I've played since have been very half-assed cookie cutter XBLA fare with very generic sountracks (Bust a Move has some almost Tetris-level addictive music.)
Puyo Pop Fever is great, but there are so many versions.

| Actually Puyo Pop Fever is one version of the Puyo Puyo series. I like Puyo Puyo but I'm not good at it. :/ | |

| I honestly couldn't tell you what versions I've played or on what platforms. I didn't play the THQ-localized GBA game (which I think was the only NA version simply called Puyo Pop) and Sega only localized the Puyo Pop Fever games properly, everything before then was a reskin, be it Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Puyo Puyo) or Kirby's Avalanche (Super Puyo Puyo.) | |

| They are not really that different from each other except for story continuity, they do however have one or two shenanigans different from each other but that's about it.
IIRC there are translation patches for bothe the anniversary titles for the NDS.

| Yeah, Puyo 15th had a ton of gimmicks added to the core gameplay, and Puyo 7 replaced Fever mode with the Big/Small mode along with the aforementioned gimmicks. Sure, multiple games don't look like they add much, but it does give more variety for the meta game (if they're willing to step out of the classic rules bubble). | |

| I would say The Last Story, The gameplay is fun and I've never seen anything quite like it. | |

| Arc Rise Fantasia, hands down. One of the best games no one played. | |
