| I don't remember Nintendo having this bad of a release schedule in a long time. Considering how easy they said Wind Waker HD was to make, I'm really disappointed they didn't make more HD versions of Gamecube titles to help pad their release schedule. - Spoiler:
RIP Vita

| Really? The Wii was basically this. The fact that the 3DS has nothing good except for Paper Mario and Hyrule Warriors 1.25 coming out for it is the surprising bit. | |

| I forgot about that. So really I'm frustrated with Nintendo doing the same old thing.
Also, I realized Nintendo showed nothing of The Devil's Third. Its supposed to be out in Japan and Europe at the end of August, but it has no release date here in North America. At last year's E3 Treehouse had a 40 minute presentation of the game.

| Honestly Devil's Third doesn't look that great, but my issue is mostly with the completely unappealing protagonist. | |

| Hey guys, remember when EA remade Goldeneye?
Do you also remember that when FF7 was developed, Square was still Squaresoft?

| Nobody asked for that remake. We wanted the HD version of the N64 game. | |

| It was still accepted by fans when it was announced. My point being, with all the new hands and those running SE right now that probably never even played FF7 calling all the shots, don't get your hopes up...is what I advise. Hype kills games after all. Everyone looking forward to emo Cloud? Emotionless Aerith? Bigger boobies Tifa? A bigger stereotypical black man Barret? Sephiroth shirtless in 100% of appearances and more wings on his di -- ok I'm done. | |

| However the developers fucked up Goldeneye Wii when they ported it to the other consoles, so I'm convinced that it being half-decent was a fluke
But yes, there are valid concerns that they will go for Advent Children more than the dorky crossdress-whoring musclebound bath-house nonsense that was FF7.

| Nomura stated that he wasn't going to try to stay true to the original. I'm not sure if that is wise since the game is for the fans, and while repeating was was loved of the original no longer possible, this could serve as a double-edged sword in the end - that is assuming whatever new is put out is actually good. | |

| He wants to do some new things in this remake, but nowhere does it say he is not going to follow the original game. | |

| Goldeneye Wii was perfectly fine for what it wanted to be. The greater problem being Activision's being so afraid of their own creation (CoD), that they wouldn't let Eurocom try to make anything else; presuming there was a pretense of wanting to make something closer to the original game at all. Nope, all eyes are still on Crytek, and Timesplitters 4 ain't coming. - Divinus Fulmen wrote:

Which also looks fine for what it wants to be. Just the same issue as above. - Taiyz wrote:

When you remember again that Cloud's voices were not cast to the Cloud of the actual game.

| Cloud's voice in Crisis Core is rather fitting for him though. But yeah, it's kinda hard to say if it'll fit his confident personality of vanilla FF7, since the only times we heard of him is in his really naive persona of CC and his taciturn self in AC/KH/Dissidia. Takahiro Sakurai probably won't have too much of a problem. | |

| Its weird how they make Cloud act in Advent Children considering what happens in FF7. The whole reason he can even fight Sephiroth in the first place is because he comes clean about what happened at Nibelheim. He stops brooding at that point. Advent Children acted like none of that even happened. | |

| Advent Children came out after Kingdom Hearts though, right? Technically that's what ruined Cloud's post-FF7 personality. | |

I'm glad you caught that. When I said that, I wasn't sure where I got the information but I recall reading it somewhere on what Nomura's plans were. But I'm still keeping a realistic view since this project is given to a team of new people.

| Well yeah, I mean everything's gonna be based on interpretation and nostalgia factor. Cloud's post-FF7 appearances clearly don't take any of the funny stuff from the original into account, but I will say that he doesn't look super grim in the new Dissidia, so who knows. | |

But I'm still keeping a realistic view since this project is given to a team of new people. Well, its partially new people. According to this article, three key people from the original are back in charge. Originally, Nomura was the character designer, so his role changed significantly. KH3 (another game he directed) seems to be looking good, so I'm optimistic about this one.

Kingdom Hearts also has Squall cracking smiles as wide as Sora's, while remaining an arbitrary grumpuss in Dissidia. Its possible that Square liked Kingdom Heart's Cloud so much that they made him the new idea of the character, but I can't help but feel like those creative winds were changing anyway, and Kingdom Hearts just happened to be the first chance for them to manifest themselves.

As I said before, somewhere else - probably... Even if they had the original crew it falls on Nomura mostly. I'm not hyped by the remake but I'm just glad Motomu Toriyama isn't at the helm.
