Mabo Curry and Tales games. It seems that Tales games have an obsession with Mabo Curry

Anyone knows why?

1) It's a type of curry that only existed in the game's fictional universe until they actually sold real, Tales branded "Mabo Curry" in Japan.

2) Japan really likes curry I guess?

I wonder if it actually tastes any good...

I guess the takeaway is that this is kinda like the Final Fantasy mana potions/energy drinks. Have they sold candy based on Gels?

^Not that I know of, but they don't need to. They're just gummy candy (the Japanese name for Gels is Gummies), and a candy already exists that resembles them visually, though the taste leaves something to be desired.

Well, you can get better tasting ones. In Canada we call them jujubes (in the US this exclusively refers to a brand name,) and you can get some great ones at many bulk candy stores. They're best when they're sour (they aren't actually sour by my definition, but they have more character.)

There's a Japanese brand of gummies that they labeled with Tales for Tales Festival a few times. Can't recall the name off the top of my head though.

I believe they're the ones made by Kasugai

I actually bought some gummies the other day that looked exactly like Tales gummies and came in grape, orange, and some kind of next flavour that was green. I'll edit in a pic when I can, its a little deformed because they are very likely expired I did not know I still had them...Ignoring my faulty lifestyle choices, they were perfectly round when I first got them.

So yeah, it looked like a perfect Tales gummy when I actually bought them, but it kind of got darker and shrivelled and got gross....
