I split the thread and provided an explanation in the OP, because this is awesome even though I don't plan on watching much.

How does this even work

I opened the stream just for the hell of it and it looks like they've been struggling to get out of the options screen for at least the last two minutes.

edit:  And now they keep trying to use S.S. Ticket as a battle item.

Just when they manage to pass that ledge, they lost to a hiker and were sent back to Cerulean city. "Here we go again!"

Y'know, this does kind of work as some sort of bizarre internet sociology experiment.

But to address the actual question of "lololol will they ever be able to finish the game with a noisy chatroom that actively avoids coordination and is mostly filled with trolls just trying to fuck around endlessly?" the answer is quite simply "No." It's just really... boring once that hits you.

That actually might not be the answer, Abi. They've already gotten three badges, and some of their Pokemon are in the 30s. They've actually made an impressive amount of progress... just rather slow progress. At the current rate, they might beat the game by the month's end.

Wait, why is the Rock Tunnel music a remix of the Crank Yankers theme?

Seriously, I never noticed that until now.

Pokemon came out before Crank Yankers.

They show a surprising amount of coordination when trying to run away from battles.

I'm assuming the menus in Pokemon's battles don't wrap, so it doesn't matter how many times they say down and right, they'll highlight the run option.
