Tales of Hearts R localization confirmed (Winter 2014)

Fine with me.

Mixed feelings about this... I'm very disappointed, since this is definitely a cost-cutting measure, but I think the quality of the Tales dubs since Vesperia have been slipping. The directing's been getting markedly worse, the delivery more stilted, and we're getting lots of reused voices because they've more or less tapped the pool of best talent willing to do non-union jobs. Xillia's dub was something of a low point.

And if it means not listening to Amber's English voice from Graces F, fine by me.

If no English dub, well subtitles will be inKorrect for some names and lines...

One more reason for why the f*** they changed Shing name. At least you can change it so it's ok.

Maybe in DS Hearts, but I don't remember Hearts R giving you the option to rename characters.

In may be bullshit but it gives me hope that the NA release will still have a dub.....maybe.

I know cause programming and all, but why can't they keep features like name changing in later games? I mean, they did it in Vespy and Hearts DS. It's a fun option that doesn't really subtract much from the experience, but gives players more options to just have, you know, options?

I guess it's the same for me but opposite. I like most English voice actors and have grown to hate the sound of Japanese voice actors.

As said on FB, I love Kaki and Marina Inoue so it works out for me. As long as I can understand what I'm playing, it's all goooood. ^_^

Like I said, I enjoyed Innocence R, and since it's from the same developer, I want to try it out myself.

And besides, it's time to try at least a version of Hearts. If the Japanese/Asian version wasn't that expensive I'd gotten that than Kor.

Care to elaborate? While far from perfect, I thought Xillia had the best English acting in the series thus far. It's definitely better than Graces, Symphonia and Legendia in the dubbing department. And Xillia 2 is looking to sound great as well.

I'll still buy Hearts if there's no dub, but they'd better not treat Zestiria the same way when it comes out.

While better than Graces I'd still say that Vesperia and Abyss are better, maybe the others you mentioned too (not Eternia though).

Luckily I don't think Zestiria will get the Hearts treatment, it's a much bigger project than Hearts.

Eternia had the most fitting voices of any Tales game. Legendia being the only other one to come close.
