Unlike Final Fantasy and Tales, every Trails is a single continuity. Which is why it's weird that XSeed will skip Third Chapter, Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki.
Sen no Kiseki II even has a chapter about the main characters from Zero/Ao no Kiseki, so when they release it, I expect a lot of people being lost playing that game.

Do those games even have a linear story? I imagine they just cherry-picked what they thought would sell best, or maybe because they're the latest games in the series Falcom is working on PC versions for Steam that will come out the year after the Vita localization
XSeed already confirmed PC versions of Falcom's newest games will not be happening. According to XSeed's E3 lineup article, Trails of Cold Steel is a standalone series. I don't think they would say that if it wasn't true.

The newest Game Informer has big news about Halo 5's multiplayer. The game will ship with 20 maps, and 15 FREE DLC maps by June 2016. This is huge for Halo 5, because Halo 4's DLC fractured the community. Certain game types required the DLC, which was pretty lame.

So XSEED just announced their first fighting game. EXAMU's Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel, the cross-over tag fighter featuring characters from Nitro+ visual novels (and their mascot, Sonico, obviously.)
That's pretty hype as the game looked really good (I mean EXAMU's one of the three great fighting game devs in Japan right now, besides ArcSys and French Bread/Ecole Soft.)
Oh yeah, the game has cross-plat PS4/PS3 gameplay, and Homura from Senran Kagura is gonna cameo.

That's the thing, Nitroplus and EXAMU are not obscure in the least. Nitroplus is probably THE big visual novel company right now, they're even co-developers for the Science Adventure games (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, etc.)
The problem is that their ANIME series' are obscure as f***, despite being really awesome. You should check out Demonbane, it's basically Cthulhu mythos stuff except they're goddamn mechs. Phantom of Inferno is also an excellent thriller story (kind of Bourne-ish.) Also, Saber is gonna be in this because Nitroplus is working on Fate/Zero with Type-Moon.
I've heard really good things about the game, but the problem is that there isn't really a dedicated community in America yet because so few people recognize the properties. (Sure, a lot of them don't have anime but still.)

Please understand I am merely poking fun at myself. I am a sucker for fighting games, except Street Fighter.

It honestly saddens, and in a way, disgusts me how the shell of Konami is only now showing any sort of love towards the series after they effectively slaughtered it.
Hey guys, if you had actually gone on to make Suikoden VI (among many other things) you might not be a fucking shell of who you once were. Nice going idiots.
That said, I'm glad more people get to play my favorite Suikoden - storywise, anyway. The gameplay itself left a lot to be desired.

Oh cool, Astebreed's out this week. That game's rad. I also didn't know that Risky's Revenge was coming to PS4, I might have to grab that.

Imagine what it would’ve been like if Kojima was in whatever mega-gritty ultra-bleak mindset he’s using for MSG5 back when he wrote MGS4.
Imagine what would have happened to Sunny.

The 2015 Japanese fighting game onslaught begins today with BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend and J-Stars Victory Vs+. Don't get CPE on the Vita though because it's the odd man out, the game has cross-play and cross-buy DLC between PS4 and PS3. J-Stars Victory Vs+ has cross-save which I assume works for all three versions. It's also got 2v2 online matches! SO HYPE
Also, the Attack on Titan 3DS game is 25% off right now. I picked up all three!

Yeah the lack of melee combat is quite awkward, especially after ZX with playable Harpuia.
But the gameplay of Gunvolt is quite a beast in itself once you eliminate the preconceived notion that this is gonna play like Zero/ZX. What I like about Gunvolt is that it has quite a steep learning curve, but after you play it for a while, it becomes second nature to you; I don't think I can live without Flashfield in any platformer anymore.
Not only did I call it, BUT THE FUCKING MAIN CHARACTERS ARE NAMED BECK AND CALL AND LEGENDS DEVS ARE WORKING ON IT
Christ Inafune, I get that you old designers are getting away with a lot right now, but this is seriously tiptoeing a certain line here.
PS: it's kind of offensive that they're essentially charging $50 and $100 for autograph tiers.

Better to tiptoe the property line than sit on the property and do nothing with it like Capcom.
That said - even though I just kickstarted it a ludicrous amount - it might be Legends in gameplay, but everything else won't be. Part of what made me love Legends in the first place was that it *was* Mega Man, but it felt fresh. It wasn't the same old "2D jump and shooty" that to me had gotten stale after Mega Man Classic and Mega Man X. Red Ash will only be a clone at best.
It'll probably be a really good game, but it will be missing a lot of what made Legends special to me.
As you can see my feelings on it are kind of mixed. It's like, sure it's kinda sleazy but I still want this to be another multi-million dollar spit into Capcom's face.

I rather like them rubbing it in all over Capcom's face, I'm immature like that.
And I don't even like Legends that much.

Eh, I'm still gun-shy because the concept art for Mighty No. 9 looked way better than the end product, but the larger problem is IT ISN'T OUT YET and they're asking for more money for another project.
