I can't stand her voice. She sounds so annoying or is it just me? Serah, Marta and Cheria, I did not like any of them (that could be a character thing).

Well wgho would play Amber, Laura Bailey? The girl who played Elize Lutus? Namco (mostly) doesn't like to reuse voice actors for the playable characters, it's highly likely to be somebody new to Tales voicing Amber. To get a better idea of the voice pool used by Namco, look at other games dubbed using Cup of Tea. Recent examples include the Soul Calibur series, the Tekken series, Fire Emblem Awakening, and I think the Dead or Alive series and maybe Bravely Default. Personally I'd like Kira Buckland to play Amber, but I don't know if she's in the Cup of Tea voice pool.

| The upload from Bandai Namco EU was made public again, so they're probably going ahead and actually announcing it unless it's another screw up. Edit: https://twitter.com/TalesofU/status/458242507789565952 It's officially official now. Edit 2: "Here’s a message from Hideo Baba, Producer on the series, straight from Japan! https://youtu.be/GwSwiBt4fXcWe’re incredibly happy to announce that Tales of Hearts R is coming this winter on PlayStation Vita! It’s been one of the most requested titles from Vita owners, and its success in the #JRPGVita poll on Twitter was hard to miss Tales of Hearts R follows Kor, a young man living in a small village by the sea. While watching the house in his grandfather's absence, Kor meets a young woman named Kohaku who has come searching for his grandfather. However, a mysterious witch soon appears and casts a spell on Kohaku's Spiria, the embodiment of her heart and soul. Kor attempts to lift the spell, but while doing so he accidentally shatters her Spiria Core, the source of her emotions. Armed only with the Soma, an unusual weapon given to him by his grandfather, Kor must now set out on a journey to find a way to make Kohaku's Spiria whole once more." Kor and Kohaku? *runs away before everyone sees it* | |

Amber got reverted to her Japanese name for whatever reason. :/ As for Shing, well the best excuse I could come up with is that they were going off the reasoning for Shing's name on the official blog where they claim that it comes from 「心」を「具えている」 (心 and 具 together would be pronounced "shingu"), and they could be aiming for it sounding like the Latin word "cor" (heart, since that's what 心 means). ...But I guess the only way to know for sure is if someone on the localization team says something.

This. I mean what? Let's get rid of one Asian name and revert another character back to theirs. Ok, whatever.

| I guess I'm ok with Kor and Kohaku...but I am scared of what the other character names will be.
I hope we don't get any drastic name changes like Woodrow to Garr.

| I will take the reasoning Cutie P gave for Kor, I can live with that, it also sounds like the french word for heart and makes me think of a meteor's core, that's coolio. Kohaku makes me uncomfortable though after all the different opinions over her name xD Oh wello, I feel like maybe we don't have to be that scared for everyone else, maybe they kept Kohaku because they wanted to give her village a traditional Asian atmosphere and not change the village tree's name from its Japanese name. We will see what is in store for us~ I just hope they don't kill the theme naming like they did to the town's in Xillia, I loved the story book themed towns and precious material themed people D: If they change Lapis' name I will be sad. | |

| Considering the game is out this winter, they can't even be all "we done goofed!" and reverse this, either. I'd imagine the dub is already halfway done if not already finished. | |

Personally I'd like Kira Buckland to play Amber, but I don't know if she's in the Cup of Tea voice pool. Cup of Tea can pretty much hire anyone in the LA area if they so desire, they just are limited by what their client wants (namely, union or non-union voice work). All studios are like that, they do what their clients tell them. They've done plenty of union work before, including Jean d'Arc (featuring bigger-name VAs like Fred Tatasciore and Kari Wahlgren). Namco and Cup of Tea can greatly expand their talent pool by utilizing union voice actors. Their only limits are what Namco puts upon the production studio.

| I've been watching some clips of Hearts R, and I gotta ask who Shing's Japanese voice actor is. He sounds similar to a character in Kingdom Hearts. | |

| Kor, huh o.o Sounds weird to me. I've always liked Kohaku, though. (But it is weird that they don't use the name they gave her in Graces.) | |
