Any of you going to get Mario Kart 8 at launch?

Can I actually play games with you Nintendrones for once, or are you gonna make me wait? =P

I will be getting it at launch. That free game deal when you buy it is too good to pass up.

I want that game. But I don't have the moneys for a Wii U yet

I'll be getting a Wii U eventually, but do I really want to get one specifically for a game that I might play for a few months, then put away and never play again?... not sure.

I don't have any plans to pick up the game at launch, but I wasn't sure if the free game download only applied to people who are buying the Wii-U MK bundle, or if it is for anyone who buys the game. If it applies to anyone who buys the game, and Wind Waker is one of the downloadables, I might change my mind.

Oh I kind of want to get it. I need more games for my WiiU too.

I'm thinking of it. The fuss over the roster turned me off, but the soundtrack is really pulling me back in.

I already have had it preordered, but I'm not so sure about playing it with you after calling us Nintendrones.

It's not my fault that the majority of this forum mostly had a console that featured maybe 2-3 commonly-owned Nintendo Network titles.

Though at this point the Wii U looks like it's not gonna change that much.

Polygon made a terrible article about this game, but someone made their chart into something even better.



The last Mario Kart I played was Mario Kart DS, and the AI went crazy with Blue Shells. I think I got hit by at least one every game.

Polygon seems like a great site when you first come across it, but if you pay attention to the community it's quickly revealed what shitstarters they are.

Man, playing with the item setting on 'Frantic' is great. Crazy Eight in Second Place is fun! Plus you don't get those damn coins nearly as much.

I have a quick question about Mario Kart 8. Is it possible for more than one person to play online matches from the same connection? In other words, if me and a buddy are playing online, could our wives also play with us?

I wasn't going to get the game until later, but I found an unused gift card and gave in.......... That being said, it's a ton of fun and I'm really enjoying playing it!

And Bo, I think you can if you select two player online? Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't tried it out yet.

I found a GameFAQs thread that said yes, just like MKWii. So if MKWii had it, so does this. Apparently when it comes to map voting, both players are forced to vote for the same map though. Note that to keep their rankings and such, they will have to have to make an account/Mii on your Wii U (same sort of profile system that the other consoles have.) But if these are wives we're talking about, that's presumably already the case.

Oh and because I haven't commented on it, I'm waiting until Friday (pay day.) Ran into some money issues because something big shipped like half a year earlier than it should've, and some other things have since cropped up. I still want to get this early in its lifespan because like the OP said, I'm tried of not being able to play things with you dudes.
