| Hey, so the last Club Nintendo rewards are out. These are the free rewards for achieving Gold or Platinum status. I will almost definitely be grabbing DK Tropical Freeze in honour of Nintendo finally releasing everything DK on the Virtual Console (I mean within the span of a month we got DKC1-3, DKL1-3 and Donkey Kong 64 which is probably the biggest surprise of all since that never came out on the original VC I think.) | |

| That game is 11gb. I think I have just enough room for it on my system. I'll buy a hard drive for it some day. | |

This is pretty big news. Hopefully if it sells decently some of the other games will show up. I played that game on a computer of an acquaintance over a year ago. Apparently I was (accidentally) really good at it. Dodging shots like a madman. In hindsight that version was probably illegal if Touhou is only coming to the west now...

| A quick round-up. Etrian Odyssey 2: Untold is coming here from Atlus, Rodea the Sky Soldier is coming from NISA and first print copies include a second disc with the game on Wii (unclear if the Wii version is actually different though,) Idea Factory made a translation for Moe Chronicle but hasn't announced an American release so Play-Asia is promoting the Chinese version which will have the English translation in it (originally Moero Chronicle it is a dungeon crawler sequel to card battler Monster Monpiece,) and finally, Dungeon Travelers 2, that game where ToHeart2 characters dress up in skimpy warrior maiden outfits is coming care of Atlus. In more HYPE news, Square-Enix is making a new Dissidia Final Fantasy for arcades based on PS4 hardware, a port is planned, Team Ninja is assisting development a la Smash Bros' help from Namco Bandai, they might implement the Soft Engine so maiwaifu Lightning can have the most realistic skin possible. That was intentionally creepy. I haven't gotten a chance to watch any of the videos out for it, but the word is that it's mega hype, so with this and Star Ocean 5, it's a good time for Square-Enix. I'll look 'em up and edit later. Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XebSK-MiGL0Version comparison reveals that the PS4 version will be superior, a first for arcade games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdxMyrXIN5c

| The Wii game is completely different from the 3DS and WiiU versions. The original was made by Yuji Naka, and the other two were made by Kadokawa games without his input. The WiiU version is a port of the 3DS version. The Wii version runs at 60 FPS, the 3DS version runs at 20 fps (30 on the N3DS), and 30 on the Wii U. The Wii version also has better controls, faster gameplay, and brighter, more colorful graphics. | |

| Kojima was the main attraction at Konami, without him the company doesn't have much. | |

| They've been dead to me since getting rid of the Suikoden team and have not localized a single game I've wanted in years, so I find myself merely somewhat amused to see them self-imploding.
Sucks for the Metal Gear and Silent Hill fans tho.

| Konami having questionable issues right now really gives me the feeling that the gaming industry is in big trouble. These days either you make shitty unimaginative AAA games yearly or you're an indie dev, no middle ground to be had. | |

| Konami's not in trouble, if you ask me, just shifting focus as a business. They're probably going to focus on releasing pachinko games domestically and drop out of the international market. | |

| Their gaming division is pretty screwed. The likelihood of them of selling some of their IPs isn't out of the question. | |

Its more of a problem with the Japanese gaming industry. Their problems started in the previous console generation with the rising costs of game development. Konami's problem is they rely on Metal Gear way too much and they don't really have anything else to support them in that part of their company. Firing Kojima basically collapsed the company, it could potentially kill any future interest in the Metal Gear franchise.

| Well, instead of focusing on one company committing suicide, let's celebrate Access Games who just confirmed that D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, probably the best adventure game I've ever seen, is coming to Steam despite originally being launched as an Xbox One exclusive (and bombing because it's not from a AAA studio.) | |

| The problem is, it's hard to sell people on the game. I mean, Deadly Premonition was widely regarded as a masterpiece, but was severely hampered by graphical and mechanics limitations (it dun didn't play gud.) D4 is actually an incredible adventure game, offering a real alternative to the TellTale games and the point and clicks. The story is also super weird, but at the same time super intelligent and creative and makes a surprising lot of sense all things considered, though like any game that explores the fourth dimension, your experience may vary.
The voice acting is also fucking fantastic, especially with the main character and his Boston accent, and all the strange characters in the game are insanely charming, easily one of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS for an adventure game to have.
I really can't think of a single bad thing to say about the game, apart from the fact that it was designed as an episodic experience but sales limited it to a single episode...But hopefully this Steam release will change that. We need to make this happen, people!
