There's a storm coming!

I am both new to the forum and new to the Tales of community.

I got into the Tales seies back in 2013 (I know, not very long ago for many of you veterans), and have since really wanted a place where I can go to talk with other fans of the series (that was not FB or tumblr). However, my search for an active forum has been a tale of pain, heartache, and disappointment (also of laziness, because looking for somewhere active entails hard work, which I have an allergy to).

Even if this place is slow, I still hope I can stick around here long enough to get to know you all here.

My first game was Tales of Symphonia (PS2). I've played other games in the series since then (but it has taken so much time to both track some of those games down and also just to finish them. Not to mention, I have too many Tales games to catch up on). I've played many of the recent titles now, and I've also played Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Vesperia too. Right now, I've wanted to go back to games pre-Symphonia at some point, just to experience them first hand.

That's awesome! Really interesting game to start on, most people don't even know about the PS2 version until they become a fan! It definitely takes a bit to catch up when you start a series with releases this frequent, it took me a bit as well, and I started with Phantasia (GBA)! Experiencing them first-hand is definitely always different, pre-Symphonia titles all are very stylistic too, I think you'll enjoy them when you have the chance!

Fun story with the PS2 version for me, I actually found out about it on accident and wasn't aware it wasn't common knowledge until I got more into the series and looked things online about it. I was actually looking for a copy of the GC version online, which was expensive as f***. Then I saw a Japanese version of the game that was only $AUD15 plus free shipping, and thought "why not" since I've played games in full Japanese before. Then it came here, and it was for the PS2 and I was just surprised since I fully expected it being for GC.

I do like the look of the older games, since I've looked some parts of those games online, but yes, playing a game is always much different. (You can't quite get the rage of fighting that one boss when you're not the one playing it after all /shot) So I definitely can't wait to get a look at playing those those some day.
