| If it uses a video format people can readily modify, then yes. | |

| http://www.abyssalchronicles.com/?fn_mode=comments&fn_id=1410Abyssal Chronicles is hosting a Tales of Melodies contest in which you're supposed to identify the song used in the medley. I'm not entering since I've already pre-ordered mine and I don't really do collectibles. But it is rather fun figuring out the songs in that medley. The first half of the medley is rather easy to spot the change in music, but the latter part, especially the ending part is so unfair lol. Anyone want to share their findings? Or are we not allowed to do this? Ah who cares, I'm posting what I can hear, good god the field/serene theme all sound so samey. Note that I'm basing these timestamps using the mp3 version instead of the video. 00:00 - 00:04: Xillia 2 - Song 4 U obvsly 01:44 - 01:52: Destiny 2 - Wheel of Fortune 02:00 - 02:08: Rebirth - Desperate Battle 02:14 - 02:23: Destiny - Common Destiny 02:38 - 02:54: Xillia - That Fist, Decision in a Blink 03:07 - 03:15: Legendia - Sea of Rage 03:37 - 03:47: Xillia - Overlapping Ripples 03:47 - 04:06: Xillia 2 - Proof of Choice Yeah I only managed the more iconic ones cuz Im a casual. I estimated around 37+ different songs being used. Don't bother using Shazam though. Each section is too short for it to recognize, provided that it can recognize Japanese Game OST in the first place. I know, I tried and got linked to some dubstep. Damn, after listening to this medley, I suddenly got the urge to listen through Destiny 2 and Rebirth soundtracks again, especially the former. Best Motoi Sakuraba work imo, even the naming of tracks were great. Alea Jacta Est, Dum Fata Sinunt Vivite Laeti, Veni Vedi Vici, Disce Gaudere, Vive Memor Mortis. Rebirth got The Die is Cast(lol sakuraba should've make an arrangement of Alea Jacta Est for this, such wasted potential), those Scutums and fucking irish vibe from The Trial. | |

| The thing is, ToH, is that PC players aren't really used to playing Japanese games, and they don't understand that Japan's PC market is practically nonexistant compared to the west's. 60fps, as an option at least, is an expectation when it comes to PC gaming, and PC gamers are the least compromising people you'll ever meet. It's hard to get people to understand that the Japanese simply don't develop games with scalability in mind most of the time (which is why we got so many "beta" Tales games, and constant fighting game revisions when they could be doing DLC,) I mean look at Tango Gameworks headed by that RE4 guy, peopled played it on PC so they could modify it and remove the letterboxing, but that caused random crashing until the developers eventually made an option to remove the letterboxing themselves just recently. - BlazingFiddlesticks wrote:

That it wasn't the instrumental version of its vocal song or were you just not a fan? It was also a horrible, generic song that bared no relation to the game.

Really? Because I shared my finding or because I sucked in finding out the songs? If it's the former, sorry then, but this was such a fun contest even if I'm not entering. I'm always a fan of game soundtracks and it just feel great identifying songs you know. If it's the latter, dammit. By the way, it's 30 song something, not 37+. I separated several songs that has a shift in tone midway when I first estimated them.

Big thing is the Alisha's Convictions DLC will be free for a limited time after launch. Europe's is about a month. How long in North America?

| Speaking of Steam, the pre-purchase goal for Tales of Symphonia PC is only 57% complete. I don't think it'll be reached. | |

| It's now at 80% and going up at a decent pace. Either way more people are doing last minute preorders or Bamco adjusted the numbers. Edit: And now it's at 90% | |

| I wonder how many people actually pre-ordered on Steam. I'd like to be generous and say around 100k but it's probably closer to 50k. | |

| We made it guys! I'm not even that hype about Zestiria, but including Symphonia as bonus is definitely going to ramp up sales, and I really hope this direction of PC continues into the future so yeah excellent. | |

| It would be great if Namco used the PC platform to give us Tales games we never got like Vesperia PS3 and Rebirth (even though it would probably be very expensive to have Troy Baker reprise his role as Yuri at this point). | |

This has been getting thrown around a lot, but I am not sure why. Yes, PC has a number of advantages for backports; the operating system does not change entirely every 5 or 6 years, no licensing fees, and it is a perpetual platform so there is no such thing as "too late". Vesperia PS3 is not coming because the PS3 market is dead, while on PC it would be just another release. Does any of that matter if there is no install base?

| It's a bit late for this --- but it's still technically pre-release for NA: I really like the design for the female characters. The male characters, I'm kind of split on it. The MC and his sidekick are alright. Those 2 other dude, I'm not really digging it yet. Perhaps that will change/grow on me as I (soon) play the game! | |

| rather late about the opening but
HOLY SHIT THAT GUITAR RIFF IS SEX TO THE EAR WHO GIVES A f*** ABOUT JAPANESE LYRICS
Also, I can't seem to Flash Dodge (or whatever the term for this is) in the game. Any pointers from those who played the Japanese version/is playing NA version now?
EDIT: lel right after I posted this I managed to flash dodge 5 times in succession. i wasted 1 hour grinding skill on the boar in prologue to try to flash dodge their attacks, but 1 minute into battle with the snakes, easy flash dodging.
EDIT2: haha game, nice way of handwaving the reason i dont get money and loot from rampaging around before the scene. im seriously rethinking to just go through the story first before grinding stuff
