Don't worry, it's still very much Tales. Those trailers just like to try and present the story in a different way to hype it (they did it with X1 too, complete with the epic music).

Without using the grade shop option to have his choices voiced, does Ludger ever speak in the main story beyond just grunts, battle quotes, and the occasional one or two words like "Got it"?

Well every choice matters if you want to use dual mystic artes before the end of your first playthrough.

You don't necessarily need choices for that, you can just spam friednship bottles or whatever they're called.

They're freaking expensive though

Isn't they bought from Casino? I'm pretty sure the Casino have Poker and you could always get insanely amount of chips on tales Poker.

I wonder what kinda sensation one feels when applied with a friendship bottle.

Even with Gold Dice, it will still take awhile to get enough chips for all the bottles you would need since they cost 20k each.

Is Reika the Tales ambassador? If so, she was cosplaying Asbel for the most part. I think Milla at one point too. Either way, I didn't see any Jades.

Someone else happened to ask this, actually. Rather, he asked why the names would be changed if the Japanese audio would just say the original names anyway. Baba explained that the reason certain names changed was because they might sound odd in certain European countries. ...So, idk, apparently in some country the name Shing (Meteor) is odd/rude/coarse/whatever and that's why they felt a need to change it. Which is a shame in regards to how it doesn't correspond with the Japanese audio, but dubbing the entire game would've taken so much money and effort that it would've taken much longer (and would've needed a greater budget) to localize the game.

As for me, I asked whether we'd ever have another Tales of Fandom game, because I personally loved those games and I think we've got lots more material for a new one by now. Sadly, there are no plans for a new Fandom game just yet.

Baba was really nice, by the way! I met him behind the scenes (fu fu fu I have connections) and we had a quick chat. I also had my picture taken with him and I got his autograph on some merchandise. As for Xillia 2, it was the trial version. Apparently, a full game beta wasn't quite ready just yet. But the Namco guys remembered me from my speedrun last year and they were all "Oh dear lord, it's you again?"

That's a really weird explanation. They could just... change the spelling? (see: Jyde) There was no need to come up with something new entirely that wouldn't fit with the audio if it was just to avoid overlapping with a rude word... XD;

While also indeed doing just that for Innes and Galando, now Ines and Gall, I don't really see how Innes was odd, but I guess Ines is more faithful to the gemstone? Gall is just Gall Stones as a friend suggested /okay
