| LOL, so the Red Ash game kickstarter went completely silent over the weekend while there have been tons of updates for the animation. Inafune's clearly abandoned the kickstarter that can't possibly make it and is desperately trying to at least get away with $150k... EDIT: Holy f***. Well this explains a lot about wtf has been going on over at Konami for a long time now. Hopefully the Suikoden dev team that was "dissolved" get the hell out of dodge. For all we know they're working security, cleaning fitness clubs or making the Castlevania boob pachislots at the factory right now. | |

| Yeah I decided not to back anything Red Ash-related. Studio 5c's quality control has always been questionable, and I'm not paying for a goddamn 12 minute minisode on a game that has a questionable existence in the first place.
Hope Inafune learns that, yes, while normal game development companies shift to a new project while the old one is in its final stages, crowd-funders expect you to give your current project your all until it's out, and until any noteworthy bugs are fixed.
Referencing my previous post, it would make me laugh so hard now is if he posts or tweets something saying "CAPCOM WAS RIGHT ABOUT LEGENDS," and in turn loses all respect from his fans. Ironic how the game is called The Indelible Legend when all he's done has sufficed to reduce his own.

| Something I just noticed, there hasn't been a 3DS Virtual Console game since February ended. We should be consistently getting two games on the Wii U then, at least. =/ Also, http://www.siliconera.com/2015/08/04/attack-on-titan-is-getting-a-playstation-game-by-koei-tecmo-this-winter/GEE I WONDER WHAT THIS WILL BE Also they announced DoA Xtreme 3 but it will only be released in Asia, which is super lame because DoA finally has characters I actually fucking like and would enjoy in a party game setting. For some reason, Tumblr fucks have been focusing on DoA, a faction in the DoA community even released an unofficial list of "banned" costumes. It's genuinely surprising to me that Tecmo Koei, localizer of everthing, is listening to these people. | |

| The KPE website looks so weird right now. There’s that extremely anime Sky Girls pachinko game. Then there’s that extremely anime Magical Halloween game. Then there’s that extremely anime Dororon game. Then there’s that extremely anime Sengoku Collection game. Then there’s that extremely anime Otodama game. Oh, but then here’s this gritty 70s exploitation movie reboot of Castlevania and now this totally random-ass Silent Hill thing. | |

| So Halo 5 is rated Teen (instead of Mature like previous titles), interesting. I always thought Halo's violence was PG-13, so I'm not sure what changed. Here's the screenshot from the MP Trailer. I know Bungie said The Flood made Halo 1-3 Mature, but I don't really get what made the other games Mature. | |

The character design is kinda bizarre, but it looks pretty good otherwise. Its like Chibi-Eureka Seven meets Bravely Default design-wise. It looks like something I might seriously look into once we get more information, I was really liking things until I saw their special attacks, which for some reason off-put me. EDIT: I spent a good couple of seconds trying to click on your screen shot Prinny...I thought it was an embedded video ;;

I'd probably say that's not too far off. Then again, even I'm having a hard time shaking off the stereotype with Dead or Alive. It's a case of, "Wait! It has a good fighting game system? Good mechanics? I wouldn't know. They're too busy flaunting off their sexy female cast and overshadowing the gameplay stuff." Pretty much, like how Mortal Kombat is pretty much known more for guilty pleasure bloodlust & gore than its gameplay (though it does look like the recent ones are getting there in the gameplay department but not there yet). Now, I have played a Dead or Alive game (Dead or Alive 3 on the original Xbox). I'll admit, there's something there in the gameplay department. Then again, I somehow didn't like how DoA 5 Ultimate felt when I tried the Free to Play version on PS3 so there's that. It's more like trying to shake off that "All sex, no substance" stereotype. Though I do feel like I really shouldn't walking into a Dead or Alive discussion because it's just going to be a headache (considering I'm not the type to just go, "Screw You! I want my female characters to be represented as nothing more than sex objects!" And I just have myself open to be hanged because that sounds so wrong out of context).

| But that's the thing, Dead or Alive has always been known to have substance, as long as it was relevant. The problem is, Mortal Kombat started in the arcades in the 90s and got ported to everything, and the big overhaul that legitimized the franchise again was for both platforms, where-as DoA (much like Ninja Gaiden) got its big break on the Xbox (although there was a popular PS2 game first) and it was an exclusive basically until DoA5. This means that the group of people with nostalgia for the series is very limited compared to classic fighters like MK. I would go so far as to claim that SoulCalibur would no longer be a thing if they hadn't chased down the Dreamcast releases with that trifecta of console-exclusive characters including Link after the Dreamcast fell, that's another game that got a big break and they had the foresight to chase it down with a way of widely appealing to people, even something like SoulCalibur III didn't prevent it from coming back with SoulCalibur IV which was a massive success. Unfortunately they squandered that with SoulCalibur V... Personally, I'm of the opinion that the sex appeal of Dead or Alive does not hurt its sales. Or rather, you can't change things now and expect things to improve. It will always have that reputation of attractive female characters and jiggle physics. This whole soft-ban on costumes is something that will probably never be known out of the FGC itself, so why bother? It's the casuals you want to attract to your game, the FGC knows that DoA's mechanics are legit, people just don't play it because it's a 3D fighter. Preventing the release of something like DoAX3 is even worse, because now you're getting in the way of a side game that has no bearing on the fighting game series. The game's still gonna exist. There will still be plenty of videos, and you better believe we're gonna hear about the sexiest most ridiculous aspects to that game regardless, because this is how the internet works now. The game is just gonna be more difficult to play now because the text won't be translated, so legitimate fans of DoA who want to spend some more time with their favourite gals won't have the chance. If Tecmo Koei gave an actual answer, like if that PSP Dead or Alive Paradise title sold abysmally (though to be fair what would you expect for a late PSP title that was more of a port of DoAX2 with a guest character?) that would be more understandable. Radio-silence immediately makes you think that there's something else going on. I suppose it could also be in response to the fact that people immediately modded nudity into DoA5LR on the PC despite Tecmo Koei asking them not to (again, what did you expect?) Ultimately what I'm trying to say here is that it sets a really dumb precedent, and I need to hear a legitimate reason for not localizing the title when fucking Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence is coming out AT RETAIL here. Edit: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/08/05/mighty-no-9-gets-delayed-to-q1-2016-due-to-bugs-and-other-fixes/ look at this nonsense. So you started working on Red Ash and need to delay Mighty No. 9 another season? f*** off. | |

| Yeah Inafune's entered a massive downward spiral of bad decisions that is really making me lose respect for him.
That aside - in light of recent Konami news making it pretty clear why Iga left Konami and Bloodstained is now a thing... (not to mention Kojima)
I kinda wonder if Inafune left Capcom and MN9 is now a thing for similar reasons. If there's massive corporate corruption going on at Capcom as well, I would not be surprised.

| People say a lot of bad things about Capcom because of how they treated basically everybody associated with Clover and Mega Man Legends 3, but apart from that and their insistence on ruining DMC and Lost Planet with western developers, I think things are fine there. | |

| I don't know why you keep posting about Destiny here,
but that's goddamn cool. I recently completed my first raid with Jase by chance, I ran the Relic for most of the raid and really loved the shield mechanic (also if you think about it, apart from the cleansing shield, the sword and relic are basically the same) so just last night I thought how cool it would be if you could get a sword weapon and also shield people with it so that the game could actually have a tank class, but then I figured, naaah, that'd never happen, even as a super...
And yet lo and behold. I guess I'm gonna have to main that shit.

| http://www.siliconera.com/2015/09/01/here-are-dead-or-alive-xtreme-3s-character-popularity-poll-results-thus-far/Jesus christ people, are you kidding me? Mila is THIS far down the list? I guess this is what happens when you make a character for a Japanese game that actually looks like a modern young adult, instead of a child or a ninja. HOLY SHIT I just noticed that they are also literally the entire asian cast of women. I'm actually feeling insulted now. Tecmo did say that this list isn't the be-all and end-all, hopefully they decide to include the couple of filthy gaijin harlots that haven't actually been in a DoAX game before. You could also argue that Helena and Tina are the biggest western sterotypes, Japan fucking loves Paris, such that there's even a DISORDER for Japanese tourists who become disillusioned when Paris is not as romantic and perfect as the media portrays it (there's a fucking doctor at the Japanese embassy there that treats it,) and Tina is as American as apple pie. I think Helena also has some of the largest sweater puppies on the roster so I'm sure that helps too. I'm kinda surprised that Christie is last, honestly, considering how long she's been around, but I guess her personality is abrasive and her praying mantis style is not pretty to look at. Rachel I can understand because she's in the same boat as Christie on the Ninja Gaiden side of things. Lisa I get the impression has just never been popular, luchadora or not, which is why it boggles my mind why she was in DoAX2. | |

| Today in gaming, MGSV is glorious as always.
As for DOAX3 I was never too interested in the first two side games, but despite the far better character models today the game won't have Helena or Tina (until DLC and if they say they won't do DLC they're probably lying.) Washing my hands of it without the blonde bombshells. The idea of DOA6 in 2-5 years is far more interesting to me.
