The top 9 are just guaranteed to be in it, apparently, it's not the final list. I'm gonna be pissed though if they have another guest character like Rio when they have a bunch of other DoA characters waiting in the wings.
What's really concerning is that even if they do DLC, it'll probably f*** up the game's design, much like how they have this great story mode for DoA5, but all the cool characters they added after the fact like Momiji basically still have no character development because they haven't participated in a DoA tournament. That really should have been fixed with Last Round, even though story DLC for a fighting game sounds ridiculous on paper.
I hope Tecmo realizes that their cast needs some fucking diversity. I'm hoping that Mila will still make it in because she's the star gal of DoA5, I'd fucking import the game if I had to if she made it in. I would seriously be surprised if Tina and Helena also didn't make it in.
Apparently there was another popularity contest for the game before Last Round came out (this might've been why Marie Rose had a costume exclusive to the season pass?) The results are practically the same.
I have been watching bits and pieces of a friend playing MGS 5 on Steam, and Boss rolls with gusto, my gosh.
So, LucasArts killed Darth Vader's reputation (Force Unleashed II: Power Creep Buffet), and EA...
Spoiler:
...well now we (I, rather) can't say they'll never do anything for Star Wars. Luke may be even worse given that he has no need to strut.

So Halo 5 is rated Teen (instead of Mature like previous titles), interesting. I always thought Halo's violence was PG-13, so I'm not sure what changed. Here's the screenshot from the MP Trailer. I know Bungie said The Flood made Halo 1-3 Mature, but I don't really get what made the other games Mature.
As someone whose Halo experience amounts to the first, more and more of the second (playing PC version right now) and bits and pieces of the rest, I have never really understood Halo's M-rating either. ESRB must be cautious on imagery, its what got Twilight Princess the T-rating.

I think Microsoft actually requested an M-rating back in 2001 and it continued from there, though there's a scene in Halo 4 that probably warrants it. Even Nintendo (through Rare) went M in 2000 with Perfect Dark and I think Microsoft got scared and thought the M rating would sell better. After all, they were just in the process of spending like $1 Billion to launch their new console.
The Medal of Honor and early COD games were far more violent and bloody but received constant T's. Dark Souls II received a T more recently.
Fast forward to 2014 and Destiny (from the original creators of Halo) pulls amazing numbers (that it probably doesn't deserve) and does it with a T rating. Well there you go.
And even if I'm 100 percent wrong about Halo, there were display cases and print ads shortly before launch that showed a T rating. Maybe Microsoft was sure they'd get a T like they deserved instead.

So last Friday, Moss, a Japanese shoot-'em-up developer, released Caladrius fully localized on the 360 as a digital title. It's 19.99 and you should buy it!
Personally I'm missing Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst's Limited Edition, Dodonpachi Saidaioujou, and both releases from Qute and Triangle Service.
It's worth noting that Cave published Deathsmiles 2X on the 360 as a digital title in the US at least, the PAL version of Dodonpachi Resurrection released by Rising Star is region-free, Rising Star published their localization of Under Defeat HD on 360 as a digital title later which is important because the 360 version of that was NOT region-free, and now Moss has localized and released Caladrius digitally.
(I am only missing Deathsmiles 2X from proper US releases because 29.99 does weird things with my impulse-buying sense, I guess.)
Off the top of my head, Japanese XBLA shoot-'em-ups would be Triggerheart Exelica, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, Strania, Guwange, KoF Sky Stage and Trouble Witches Neo.
(I think I'm missing Strania and its DLC, I think I'm also missing DLC for the Trouble Witches Neo.)
In terms of retail PS3-exclusive shoot-'em-ups, the only one I remember is Mamoru-kun Curse! (Japanese title is different) which was released digitally on PSN in NA by UFO Interactive (ugh. Them an Agetec are always a sign of budget localizations.)
There were some PSN-exclusive releases like Soldner-X and a trio of games that are also available on Steam (Hitogata Happa is the one title I remember off-hand,) but not many.
(I don't have the latter titles but Mamoru-kun is super cheap! I think it's similar to Pocky and Rocky if I remember right)
Speaking of, on the immediate horizon, Pocky and Rocky with Becky is supposed to be available as a GBA title on the Wii U Virtual Console, so get hyped for that.

OH MY GOD VANILLAWARE YOU'VE OUTDONE YOURSELF.
WESTERN RELEASE WHEN!?
The movement of that giant robot looks kind of iffy once it hits that part of the preview but everything else is friggin beautiful OMG.
EDIT: Holy shit I didn't know I could rewatch a video of PEOPLE RUNNING OVER AND OVER so many times and not get bored.
Speaking of people, glad to see Vanillaware designing them with normal human proportions again.
Edit Edit: There were tons of ther announcements this morning but I'll leave that to someone else. All I have to say about them is for the Seiken Densetsu announcement. I've known they were going to make a new one "for a console" for a while now due to comments in the news and I was like, "For consoles? Sweet! Please don't f*** this up."
It's for PS Vita only....

I liked that it was for Vita, being a Vita owner myself. But yeah, with so many of Vita games nowadays being multiplat with another Sony console, that was a rather weird move.
KH 2.8 is way too hilarious though.
Birth by Sleep 0.2 is totally unexpected, it's probably the BBS vol. 2 teased in the secret movie of BBS Final Mix+. The graphical style looks like KH3's, so I'm pretty sure it's just an overglorified demo. Still gonna be a tool and buy it. Hopefully this also serve as DDD Final Mix, with secret bosses and extra scene and shit. It's weird that there is no Final Mix for DDD in the first place, considering how money grubbing SE is with the KH series.
New trailers for SO5 and World of FF
There's a spaceship (pretty similar to vandread's) in the trailer, but I won't hold out any expectation of space travel. Graphic is really nice and smooth.
Fatass Ramuh and actually decent Shiva. If anyone says this is supposed to be a 3DS/Wii U game, I'm not even surprised. I'm interested in this game back then, and I'm interested now. This and FF Explorer is going to be my feel good FF game next year...hopefully. If this turns out like FF Explorer and only gets its localization 2 years after the Japanese release, I'm gonna rage.
How come I've never heard of this before?? That side-scrolling exploration is dope, that air dash! Any game that has jump button in exploration is cool in my book.
More like yesterday in gaming. And I thought Ys Celceta's slowdown was distracting enough. Oh my god this game.
I haven't read much about Tokyo Xanadu since...the first announcement or so, but this is not what I was expecting Falcom. I assumed it was a game set in urban setting, with skyscrapers and shit, and fucking flying around all chuuni like. But this is generic dungeon + high schoolers. Wait, that sounds like Persona, I guess they didn't joke when they said that it's going to be an action Persona (i don't remember who said that tho). And fucking hell, this soundtrack sounds like Persona too.
As long as the gameplay is decentandnotshittylikesao, I'd still get it. Hopefully boss battles are going to be awesome as f***.
Still wondering about that Ys 8 news.

MUTHAFUCKIN' GRAVITY RUSH REMASTERED AND GRAVITY RUSH 2, THESE ARE YOUR REASONS TO OWN A PS4, SO HELP ME IF YOU GUYS DON'T BUY THESE...
Ehhhh, maybe. I like that Sony funds innovative stuff, especially non-Media Molecule innovative stuff (though I should get Tearaway Unfolded, I just don't like LBP at all.)

MAYBE NOTHING. Gravity Rush is my favourite goddamn video game.
The combat is fucking great, it's like an action game where you're a human bullet. You suspend yourself in anti-gravity, take aim and then you launch into an anti-gravity kick to slam into your opponent. You've got a really intuitive dodge mechanic, cool special attacks when you build meter, and some really kickass ground attacks for when you're not using your gravity powers.
Navigation is MIND-BLOWING. Just being able to flip gravity and platform along the sides of buildings is an incredible feat in and of itself. You also get a super fun ability later that allows you to skate along the ground. Because you essentially change Kat's gravity's vector you navigate the game by essentially falling everywhere, but it feels like flying...It's really what games like Superman 64 wanted to be but could never achieve. This is the first game where I've ever felt a true feeling of flight, Just Cause 2 let you do a lot of amazing things with your parachute but Gravity Rush is even better.
The storyline is very very good. The way it's told is manga-style with a handful of rendered cutscenes but the visual style is influenced by French comics and is very striking, while there are some elements that are kept very vague for the sake of a sequel, the story keeps you enthralled enough that you want to continue despite the allure of the sandbox. The setting kicks ass too, it's a bit steampunk, a bit prohibition era, a bit Parisian, and the different districts have their own unique styles and they're all fun to look at and sightsee in. Also, for an amnesiac, Kat is a super independent character who really doesn't mope about. She's actually one of the greatest female protagonists ever IMO, I wouldn't really call her a tomboy, but I wouldn't call her super girly either, but she is definitely quite feminine. She's strong and independent without having to remind people about that all the time.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this game, and I fucking hate motion controls but Sony made them WORK. I'm eager to see what they do with the game on PS4, and I hope that maybe there's an online co-op mode where somebody can play as Raven and you can just fly through the city together.

Didn't Resident Evil already commit suicide with Resident Evil 6 while disgracing its survival horror legacy even further?

I really don't feel like getting into another rant about RE. Let's just say that I feel most classic RE fans don't really want Resident Evil, they just want a zombie game with tank controls.
Anyway, Capcom can also f*** right off for using sound effects from Lost Planet. This should have been a new Lost Planet title instead of something that will please nobody.

They're releasing REmake and RE0 remasters on disc and they're going to do a remake of RE2. The RE2 remake probably isn't expected for the 20th anniversary of the series so there's this Operation Racoon City 2 thingy instead that we can both ignore next year. I don't think it's that bad.
Lost Planet is damaged goods after 3 and they never went back. Never that popular a series so why salvage?

So there like, really no reason to get a PS Vita now. I should just get the PSTV and it seems all good for now, Hearts R and Innocence R are both compatible with it, hopefully Tokyo Xanadu is as well.

Ok so the new Seiken Densetsu isn't new, it's another remake of Final Fantasy Adventure, which Sword of Mana was already a remake of. It'll be for iOS, Android, and Vita, and the graphics are terrible because fucking mobile devices. It looks like a fucking PS2 game!
BTW if this even gets a western release it will be iOS and Android only because Square Enix USA hates the Vita. That's one of the reasons why I was upset when it was announced as "Vita only".

I'm not sure what your point is. I mean it's nice that Capcom is remastering the Gamecube games, but who knows what they'll actually do with RE2. I imagine it'll be similar to the Gamecube titles, but I imagine fans will scream bloody murder if it's not...Personally I'd love it if it played like Revelations 2.
I have a feeling you're getting hung up on the whole "franchise suicide," which is a goddamn joke.
Still, it's a waste of resources that nobody ever wanted (like Metroid Space Police or whatever the f***) when they could've been dedicating resources to a multiplayer game that people would actually want.
Lost Planet is popular in Japan and enjoys reasonable sales over here, but I don't think any franchises that Capcom has farmed out to the US have had a sequel afterward unless you count the DMC4 Special Edition.
