I had my first "murderous rage towards author" syndrome when reading that part in the manga.
Usually, I just shrugged off some despair and ntr in other manga as 'lol dat suck'. But this is really realistic and makes total sense, as in it's just a simple case of bad luck and circumstances. You don't expect your childhood crush to hold the same feeling 15 years later, do you?
I know the reason is solid. I know no one should be blamed. I know it's right. But it's still heartbreaking. To top it off, the girl he saved is now together with the boy he saved.
It's just, this guy is a heroic motherfucker, taking the plunge to save other. Literally. And what did he get? 15 years of blank page, lost time.
Then again that was kinda brilliant. The karma of the guy who can manipulate/travel through time is his loss of time. Poetic even.
But yeah, Erased is beautiful. Heartbreaking, but beautiful. Satoru is a much bigger man than I was, that smile when she watched adult Kayo with the baby was very genuine, showing how much of a hero he is, being really glad for others' happiness instead of his own predicament.

Twisted love is still love. That's why Yandere/Megadere is the best route in anything.

Oh, I thought the entire point was that it wasn't a sequel since it's based on a mobile game that would be considered more of a setting than a story. That IS hype.
Unfortunately, there's a particular actor who's done work for FUNimation that I wanted to voice Favaro who didn't get casted so I'm kinda disappointed.

There was a separate Rage of Bahamut spinoff called Manaria Friends that was going to take place in a magic school (oh god not another Magic High School show). That one was going to air this next season but has been delayed indefinitely. We're better off without it anyway - most people's reaction to Manaria Friends was "wtf is this where's the direct sequel to Genesis we were promised?"

About Erased:
My ship has sunk into the ocean
Well, I finished reading the manga today and also finished the Anime today. I get that "Airi" ship, as it was not totally out-of-place in the Manga. The Anime, however, she had very minimal screen time. The Anime had 1 ship (before it sank), and it was our MC X Kayo.
As for the ending, I felt that the Manga had a much more satisfying conclusion. I would say that the Anime beats the manga from Episode 1 to 10. The Manga treats the "15 years later" much better. It was an entire arc compressed into 2 episodes, so naturally, they had no time! To compare it with what we had... Imagine if they only spent 2 episode on Kayo's situation. It would have been chaotic!
This Anime was at its best when it focused on characters. Learning about them was really, really well done. As for the conclusion itself, it wasn't the strength of this series.
Kayo breakfast scene is one of the most powerful scene I've seen in a long while. Manly tears wanted to burst out.
Anyway... Kayo X MC was my favorite ship :/

I actually like this. It's more realistic this way.
This also reminds me of Natalia from Tales of the Abyss. It's the opposite of that and badly written.

Same. Satoru didn't get cucked. We, the audience got cucked by the author. I never thought anything else would top Usagi Drop in the 180 f*** you category but here we are. Well played.

Yeah, I know The audience got cucked. Realistically speaking, 15 years is a long time. I'm happy that she moved on and is happy.
I simply wanted a scene somewhere between him falling in a coma and before he wakes up --- in which Kayo (and his friends) come and see him. I would have loved to see a scene was Kayo talks to him (even if he's in a coma), thanks him and say that she will move on.
It would have given us, viewers, some time to accept that the ship is not meant to be.
