So last weekend's anime viewing was pretty sparse and bland but not many shows had started yet.
Blade & Soul seems pretty generic so far. Dragonar Academy I decided to watch despite my misgivings and it seems to have promise even if the ecchi might reach groan-worthy levels. (If anyone else watches it, the Funi stream is censored and even fudges plot details in order to do so. The uncensored version made more sense.)

This Kurumi Tokisaki, and her powers...
...Basically you get the amalgamated daughter of ALL The JJBA Villains. I'm not even joking. Seriously, she has ALL of them.

Varying from time-space manipulation to breaking the 4th dimension!? As well as duplicating herself and summoning spacequakes at will threatening humanity itself?
Why am I not watching JoJo yet!?

This one is stretching it a bit in terms of the JoJo villain I am speaking of. And what does she mean by 4th dimension? The dimension of time?
Cause she pretty much has 4 JoJo villain dads out of the 5 that I know that also uses the concept of Time and Space.

Whoops, she also has the craziness of Part 2's and 3's villain.
BTW, to stay in thread: I am interested in the Ping Pong anime. I saw the commercials, and the animation is looking good, but the art style is something that will definitely turn off many.

Am I the only one feeling like we Index fans will be the next Half Life fans? As in "Half Life 3 confirmed", Index S3 WHERE?
Anyways seen Black Bullet, OP lolis are not my thing. Enju reminds me of a toned-down Yaya which I depise but meh. Inb4 Mahouka is the new SAO

Mahouka seems weak to be honest. SAO started strong then died.
So far doesn't look like Mahouka's gonna appeal to me.

I'm late on this but I'm probably going to only watch Kagerou Days and Puchimas (I still need to finish season one though). I might try Escha and Logy, KutsuDaru, and Gokukoku no Brynhildr, depending on how I feel.
I haven't been watching anime so often...really ever. xD I only watch what gets recommended to me. However, I'm really hoping Sankarea and Kyoukai No Kanata get second seasons, I love them both and I know both are continued in their source material

So No Game, No Life's first ep was so-so. Could turn out good, could turn out terrible.
Tried Captain Earth and Nanana's Buried Treasure.
Nanana looks like it could potentially be good if I can tolerate the main protag who is Naotsugu (from Log Horizon) x1000 with no face-kicking ninja assassins to keep him in check. So far he has a one-track mind and massive ADHD in an "I have no idea what you're talking about but-oh hey look breasts" sort of way.
Captain Earth so far has potential, though it seemed kind of contrived that he could pilot the thing long enough to get through this long launch/assembly sequence all while I'm going "hey dude what are you doing you don't even know how to pilot the damn thing how are you doing this?" all the way into space only for the fact he can't pilot to immediately become a problem then and ONLY then. I suppose they could explain that away by saying it launches on autopilot but they haven't. Favorite part so far is at the end of episode 2.
episode 2 spoiler:
You think you can force us to help you by keeping us captive with these devices that cause severe pain? F**k your s**t I will ignore the pain, walk out all the way to the beach, summon my gun and blow up the transmitter on these things as many times as you want.

I get massive Star Driver vibes with Captain Earth, from the island premise to the usage of "libido". MC feels pretty likable in ep2 indeed.

Log Horizon is about people stuck in an MMORPG and rather than panic and despair about their situation they learn to accept their new life as they learn all the new rules and uncover the mysteries of the new world that has now become 'reality' to them. There's still a desire to find a way to their original home but that is hardly ever mentioned and takes a backseat to the fact that at present, this new reality *is* their home, so they make the best of it. (Hey that makes it kinda sound like Mujin Wakusei Survive but without the fear of death.)
Also it's written by the author of spice & wolf and Maoyuu, and yes there is an MMO-economics arc.
It was my favorite anime the last two seasons, and it'll return for another season this fall.
EDIT: the trap many fall into with this show is expecting it to be an SAO clone, because if you do you'll be thoroughly disappointed. It is not an SAO clone. Log Horizon takes the "stuck in an mmorpg" trope and runs in a completely different direction with it. And I thoroughly enjoyed the direction they took it because I recognized it for what it was by the end of the first episode.

I never watched SAO anyways xD The only anime like that that I semi-watched was like 3 episodes of .Hack (I enjoyed it thematically and the feel it gave but I never finished it, I saw it on tv when I was really young)
That sounds interesting, I think Log Horizon is going on my list of things to watch this summer!
EDIT: Also thank you!

AKA, it's has the same crisis as SAO, but handled by using ECONOMICS.

Well if you boil everything down to the very very very basic of premises, yes.
But SAO involves players wearing virtual reality headsets that have been trapped in the game world by the game's creator and if they die in the game, they die for real. And they're told how to escape from the very beginning: Someone has to beat the game.
Log Horizon involves players that just sort of one day wake up and they're in the game world (a time they refer to as the "Apocalypse") and it's a lot easier for them to just accept that the game has become reality (they even tend to say "back when Elder Tale was a game") because there never were any virtual reality headsets. The game was originally mouse, keyboard, and monitor, so the only real explanation for the fact that the game world is suddenly so very real and tangible is that they "aren't in Kansas anymore", so to speak. And there is never any explanation given to them as to what the hell happened, they have to figure it out on their own. They're also immortal - if they die, they resurrect at their registered hometown cathedral. They are trapped in a new reality where not even death is a way out. There's so, so much that is different about Log Horizon. It's not just SAO with economics and politics, it's really its own thing entirely.
That said I do admit that the player menus are a straight rip-off of SAO, especially in that they don't even bat an eye at the fact that the interface requires them to reach out and touch menus floating in front of them when the original game was not virtual reality.
