Summer 2014 Anime Season

Some of the Spring shows I was watching have ended, so I figured it was time to get the Summer thread under way.

What's everyone planning on watching? Here's my plans:

Sailor Moon Crystal

Maybe:
Aldnoah.Zero - Depending on whether this is another Gargantia or turns into every other Urobuchi show ever.
Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance
Magimoji Rurumo - I'm all for fantasy but not liking the idea of something that shortens anyone's life. That sounds like we're setting up for a Bad End, here.
Rokujyouma no Shinyakusha!? - Not usually one for Harem animes anymore but... maybe?
Momokyun Sword - This entirely depends on how much of this show is plot and how much of this show is PLOT. If it's like 90% fanservice then no thanks.
Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen - pic looks interesting but there's no plot summary on the chart and I'm to lazy to google for any more info.
Tokyo ESP - Sounds like it could be good.

That's... a lot of Maybes. Once the season starts some of those Maybe's may move to "watching", others may move to "dropped". I'll be on vacation when the season starts, but I'll maybe catch the first episode of Sailor Moon while I'm at Anime Expo.

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance will likely get moved to Watching for me once I see what it's really like, honestly.

I'm like 100% done with SAO though. I don't even have the desire to look back at SAO after watching Log Horizon.

You really should watch Space Dandy Tenshi. As for me...

Sailor Moon Crystal - Obvious why.

Akame ga Kill - It's one of the best mangas I'm currenlty reading, I love me some animated guro and feels action.

Space Dandy S2 - For lulz

Sabagebu! - more lulz

Aldnoah.Zero - Urobuchi is love, Urobuchi is life

Blade Dance - Gotta check this out, smells like awful fanservice though.

Glasslip - yet more lulz

Hanayamate - the lulz never ends

Hamatora S2 - not expecting much but S1 was ok.

Hanamonogatari - There's never enough Monogatari.

Argevollen - Will really depends if it's super or real robot.

Nice to know, now I might not watch it.
Still checking out SAO just cause though, but yeah it will likely leave a stale taste in my mouth.

Persona 4 Golden and Rail Wars.

I'm still playing catch-up, so to speak. I recently got Haganai Next's box set, so I'm gonna watch that. Attack on Titan's second box set will probably come out soon, so I'll watch the rest of that dub. I've got SAO downloaded and have been meaning to watch that for a while (the discs are just too damn expensive for a blind purchase.) The second season will likely follow, for me.

I also need to get back into One Piece. I'm at the beginning of the Skypeia arc and have been distracted by other stuff recently.

Akame Ga Kill for me. Also maybe Prisma Ilya Zwei, just to see how the studio handles a certain character's "Recharge".

And of course, more JOJO!!!

Aside fro that, call me bacj when Non Non Biyori 2 comes out.

Sword Art Online II's a given for me.
Sailor Moon Crystal is as well, was pretty infatuated with the original anime. I think it was the first anime series I downloaded, actually.
Persona's close to the top of my 'Favorite RPGs' list, vying for the peak with Threads of Fate, so Golden's a definite. I'm very surprised that it's getting an entire second series, though, for an upgraded remake.
Glasslip I'm moderately excited for. I have a thing for those "close group of friends enjoy a summer vacation they'll always remember" type series - I can kinda relate since the summer of 2007 was much that way for me with a group of online friends, and I was a teenager for the majority of that summer.
I got a lukewarm enjoyment out of the original Prisma Illya, so I'm watching the sequel. Zwei is apparently somewhat more serious than the original, and 3rei is supposed to crank the drama way up.
Ao Haru Ride. I enjoy romance series, and on a more personal level, I'm trying to build up my interest in romance again since I'm so tired these days that I've lost much of my interest in most things.
Free! Eternal Summer. The original was nice, and I look forward to seeing a more mellow and friendly version of Rin. Not that I didn't enjoy the edgier person he was during the original, but character development is nice.

Aww yiss Tokyo Ghoul.

Hamatora S2 and Strange+ S2 is a given, as is SAO S2. Guess it's GGO - Caliber - Mother Rosario then, wonder how they're going to asspull Kirito and Leafa knowing about Excaliber after axing that side story in S1. S3 need to be a full 4 cour of Lord of the Ring x Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Online.

Not really hyped for Akame ga Kill because it's gonna be while before Tatsumi is actually decent.

Is nobody going to comment on Persona 4 Golden?

Apparently Zankyou no Terror is going to be extremely good, but playing with people's lives...

I started watching Haganai Next last night and I don't think it's quite as good as the first season. It's a lot more crass, with toilet humour like characters farting or vomiting, something that the first season generally strayed away from. They also seem to be turning some stuff up to eleven, like the scenes in Sena's room and Kodaka saying that he would hit that when Rika shows up without glasses. I also wasn't a big fan of how they handled Yukimura's big reveal, just because from what I heard he's supposed to be a transgender character (and the first season was very tasteful about this) but this season basically just says "you're a girl and you'd better believe it," but maybe that'll change.

It's still just as funny, but kind of tasteless now. They also punched up the sexual content, like I have no idea what they were trying to suggest with Sena smelling Yozora's wig at the end of the first episode, especially considering where her hand was. That said, Stella providing Kodaka with a condom is fucking hilarious, she's easily my character outside the Neighbour's Club.

Generally I don't watch harem shows or romantic comedies unless I come across a particularly choice clip on YouTube, and generally I only watch clips of dubbed stuff on YouTube (FUNimation's YouTube channel, for example.)

Oregairu takes the romantic comedy genre and spins it around.

With an actually good protagonist.

It's his fault he ruin relationship with others due to his philosophy.

And of course this is a thing:

Or something like that I don't remember.

The hell, it's not the girl's fault for being kind. i dropped it hard at that point.

You are missing the whole point of OreGairu though, it's far from being a romantic comedy and even less harem. The characters actually develop instead of staying the same the whole thing.
