Yeah, I think I'm gonna order one of her figures that's already out tomorrow to celebrate (probably the Beach Queens or one of the No Brand Girls ones,) or maybe her solo CD.

Then again I'm slightly tight for cash right now, so maybe I'll just settle for pre-ordering her OP Nendoroid which is apparently going up tomorrow. Also, Alter announced a line of figures for the show which is fucking huge.

How long do anime movies get their DVD/Blu-rays? Gonna wait for subs of em.

Philippines get to watch it on Sept/Oct lol. Canadians are left out.

Why specify Canada? There's no market for theatrical releases in NA unless you're Ghibli, let alone NISA. I imagine that the dub has pushed back NISA's schedule for S2 as well (and I swear to god they'd better get the OVA.) A lot of asian countries get cheap, quickie translations of stuff since it's more commonly accepted.

And the anime con I went to had a bunch of Love Live fans, so it'll probably at least have more peeps in if they show it here.

Anyway, I've been watching Samurai Flamenco lately. Impulse watch because it's on Netflix for some reason (don't watch it there, they screwed up the subs and if multiple characters are talking or if there's text on screen, only one subtitle appears on-screen so some dialogue and text goes untranslated.

That is a show that was so great, like top 5 anime quality, that went off the rails so fucking spectacularly after episode 7 that I don't know what to think anymore.

Here's the spoiler free bit:
Samurai Flamenco is about a male model named Masayoshi who's always idolized superheroes (sentai) and decided to become one, he essentially is a vigilante who deters people from commiting petty crimes and public nuisances. He meets Tomokazu Sugita who's pretending to be a cop (I mean, Goto is a cop but he is also every Tomokazu Sugita character ever, sarcastic straight man incarnate) who finds out Masayoshi's identity but doesn't arrest him because he means well (Goto is also nostalgic for some of the old sentai shows Masayoshi shows him.) As the episodes go on, Masayoshi gradually figures out this hero business and becomes a more reliable vigilante, eventually gaining the respect of the town, while awesome supporting characters pop up including an idol group that also includes a yuririffic superhero maniac, copycat heroes such as Flamenco Girl who causes some trouble because she fights with a weaponized magical girl rod (taser, mace, she also steps on dudes' balls repeatedly,) people trying to capitalize on Masayoshi's success by either claiming they're Samurai Flamenco on variety shows, or offerring a million yen prize to unmask him, and so on. He even gets a scientist buddy who's like Q from James Bond, and he devises various gadgets that look like stationary so that Masayoshi doesn't get in trouble for having actual weapons if he ever has to fight somebody.

It's actually a really entertaining show with a super endearing cast. The problem is what happens at the end of episode 7. At that point, you've basically accepted that the awesome opening is never gonna happen, this is a realistic comedy show that's never gonna have any real super sentai problems (although to be fair, Masayoshi does have some badass moments once he learns to use his ridiculous gadgets.)

But then...

This made the end of episode 7 one of the most epic things I've ever seen in anime, my jaw literally dropped. The problem is, is what they did with that plot point.
