Spring Anime 2015 Season (Taiyz's Love Live! hijack thread)

That I have to agree Suiki, particularly the amount of light novel adaptations. Some of those are gems, but most of them are either generic or are the one or two unique ones that either everybody loves, or everybody hates.

But the current years have been great for older mangas and materials getting new adaptations. We've gotten JoJo, Sailor Moon, the recently finished HxH, Digimon coming out with movies, Parasyte, Dragon Ball getting a new anime, and others. We also have anime from some years back getting new seasons, particularly Gintama.

It's slow, but I hope this trend continues, alongside new ideas and the usual HS, moe, and cute people doing cute things shows. Though, I won't be opposed to an anime with countries fighting each other using giant monsters. Someone fund that.

What anime are you still watching this season?

As for me:

Arslan Senki: I like it a lot!

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season: It's good, but I feel that some characters met a rather underwhelming end :/

Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation: I saw the first 3 episodes so far but it's alright.

Nisekoi: I read the manga so I already know what's going to happen. It's still entertaining if we accept the fact that Nisekoi and plot progression don't go hand in hand.

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu: I'm a pretty recent HS fan but I already saw Season 1 and 2 of the original series, read the manga (the main one) and saw the movie. After finishing this series, I'll go check the manga and other spin-offs.

Owari no Seraph: It's pretty entertaining so far. I hope that the coming episodes have a bit more actions though!

Sidonia no Kishi: Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki: I like this series a lot. I read the manga (not all, but I think I read enough to cover the entire season 2). It's been almost a year since I read it so things are slowly coming back to me.

As for UBW there is the Fate route and Heaven's Feel route, so of course certain characters will have different fates lol such as Illya and Rider.

Does MC McShoutington Eren stay Eren in Seraph? I hear he gets better but he seems so revenge shounen and shouting so much.

Him shout in in the second, third eps, and early chapters on the manga turned me off.

But yeah MC does kinda suck, but I do prefer him over Eren.

I think shouty characters are ruined for me after SAO. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka too godlike.

The only series I was watching at the moment were Senpai Club and Ninja Slayer.
Because Yeaart! comedy gold.

Although Valvrave has an odd charm to it. And at the same time doesn't.

God Eater is summer and Digimon Tri is now a 6 part movie with the first one coming out on Novmber

And Shokugeki's been on the chopping block because of America-tits. So, I don't think there's gonna be a hijacking, but Love Live is pretty okay. I've only watched the first 5 episodes, Nico seems irredeemable thus far, but I gotta admit if their intent was to create a realistic internet troll, they surprisingly succeeded. She also seems to be that idol stereotype where they can seem super cheerful and moe-moe but as soon as the cameras are off they're a real b****.

Also Kotori totally reminds me of Madison from Cardcaptors (no I'm not gonna use the Japanese names.)

Not the A-RISE video (that's pretty sweet though, can't wait to hear more from them) but the backgrounds. Anybody who's played Akiba's Trip should instantly recognize this pedestrian overpass in front of the UDX building, you can even see Yodobashi Akiba from there! I found it pretty funny that "UTX" is just a gigantic highrise high school, and they still have the monitor out front. Akiba's Trip really does live up to its name. I recognized Yodobashi Akiba in a video where Pat from the Best Friends Zaibatsu impulse-bought a Monster Hunter 4 3DS bundle, not so much from the building but from the goddamn layout of the street and the tunnel off to the side.




In idol-related news, FUNimation is releasing PUCHIM@S soon for some reason. ADV released Idolmaster Xenoglossia a long time ago, but neither The Idolmaster or Cinderella Girls have a disc release planned, let alone released. I don't get this at all.

The biggest hunch i have why regular im@s or CG don't have releases is because of licensing the vocal tracks for a home release. I'm not entirely sure of it but it may be plausible.

Also Nico is hilarious cause of that attitude of hers. I find A-Rise weird and not appealig at all. Especially their other song. Muse all the way.

Honestly I appreciated season 1 after going through season 2, then rewatching the series like 3 times.

Ain't no question for me. Oregairu cast is legit

Though Hestia seems to be a fan favorite this season.

Haven't warmed up to any of the season's multitude of characters. But Megumi has already been my fave since manga Shokugeki, and still is.

Batchiman is still entertaining tho. Blood Blockade cast (so far) is fun and can't really pick the best among them. It's like all of them together is one character for me.

Saenai Heroine Megumi from last season is superior

Watched up to and including episode 9. Thankfully Nico stopped being detestable, but she's still my least favourite by far. I've heard that there's a pairing between her and Maki which even seems to date back to episode 9 where Kotori gives them the couples' double-straw soda, though I'm sure that's coincidental.

I think I already know my Love Laifu but I'm gonna finish the season before saying anything. Place your bets, peeps.
